We can’t believe it’s almost November! In addition to the excitement of the holiday season ahead, we’re thrilled to have an entire lineup of fun events this month in Nashville. As we look to seriously step up our brunch game at Bacon Eggs & Kegs, dance the night away at Second Harvest Food Bank’s Harvest Moon annual fundraiser and take in the sweetest classic and seasonal hits at the FirstBank Pops Series’ Martina McBride: The Joy of Christmas with the Nashville Symphony, we’re ready for a great November!
We were honored to have the strong and beautiful Laurenne Juliet and Lisa Wolfe join us as models. A year ago, Laurenne’s son Ashton was diagnosed with high-risk, category IV medulloblastoma, and Lisa’s daughter Arlie is currently battling leukemia for the second time. Lisa started the blog LIVING FOR EVERYTHING when Arlie was first diagnosed and then created a corresponding nonprofit when she relapsed to share stories similar to her family’s and to raise money for those who also have children fighting cancer. Lisa luckily brought some of the LIVING FOR EVERYTHING tees to model, as well as her inspiration behind the nonprofit, her daughter Arlie!
To properly prepare for the events of the month, we’ve also enlisted the help of an expert team. Using fabulous fall finds from our friends at MODA Boutique, POSH and Pieces, stylist Meredith Mathis created some carefully crafted outfits ideal for these three November events. Our trusted go-to for makeup, The Cosmetic Market‘s Sara Jones, created stunning looks for models Lisa and Laurenne. In fitting fall fashion for the days where we want to be both outdoors and in, we headed to the Ranch at Jackalope in Wedgewood Houston for colorful backdrops, fun views from every angle and appropriate props (brews)!
What to Wear to Nashville’s November 2018 Events
The Event: Bacon Eggs & Kegs
- November 3, 2018
- Casual attire
- 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- First Tennessee Park
- Single ticket: $40; Get yours here.
Mark your calendar for one incredible brunch extravaganza during the first weekend in November. Bacon Eggs & Kegs is the Saturday festival that boasts bacon, waffles, quiche, a 30-foot Bloody Mary bar, an extensive collection of local brews and ciders, mimosas, large-scale games, music and more! Snag your ticket and come ready to eat, drink and play at First Tennessee Park!
What to Wear: Knowing that the mid-day event could require a range of suitable ensembles to fit the day’s weather, we think layering is a great idea. As you feast on the delicious offerings and enjoy the life-sized Yahtzee and, yes, a 16-foot inflatable skillet, you will want to stay comfortable. Opt for a pair of reliable jeans and a great tee, finish the look with a cute leather jacket or cozy sweater, and you’re ready to hit this important celebration.
The Event: Second Harvest Food Bank’s Harvest Moon
- November 10, 2018
- “Dressy denim”
- 6:30 p.m.
- Loveless Barn
- Single ticket: $195; Get yours here.
Join Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for its 35th year of Harvest Moon. In a treasured annual event that marks the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, they strive to raise money to support feeding programs in Middle Tennessee. Enjoy delicious catering from the Loveless Cafe and music by the Atlanta Allstars in a special evening of eating, sipping, dancing and raising money for a great cause.
What to Wear: As soon as someone mentions a band, we’re thinking about all the ways we can ensure our outfit is ready to move. “Dressy denim” attire means that we’re able to incorporate one of our favorite closet staples: the black jean. We also love that an adorable jumpsuit can take us through every season and that a cute blazer can provide even seemingly simple ensembles with an elevated touch. Don’t forget to grab a jacket for extra warmth on the mid-November night!
The Event: FirstBank Pops Series — Martina McBride: The Joy of Christmas with the Nashville Symphony
- November 29 through December 1, 2018
- Evening attire
- Thursday, 7 p.m.; Friday & Saturday, 8 p.m.
- Schermerhorn Symphony Center
- Single tickets start at $53; Get yours here.
Kick off your season of holiday music at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center with a FirstBank Pop Series show from one of country music’s most beloved entertainers, Martina McBride. In addition to your favorite Christmas tunes, she will perform her biggest hits including “Blessed,” “A Broken Wing,” “Wild Angels,” “This One’s for the Girls” and many more. Tickets start at $53, so reserve yours now, and ring in the holiday season with one incredible performance!
What to Wear: There is no strict dress code to attend the performance, but we’re excited to start the season of some dressier evening looks. Whether you’re coming from work or planning a special date night, come ready for a beautiful early celebration of the holiday season. We love the chance to wear some shimmer, a fun cocktail dress or any expression of the beautiful colors of fall!
Cozy & for a cause: LIVING FOR EVERYTHING tees
These tees support a good cause and encourage all to “live for everything.” They come in white and cream and are available online for $20.
