Our homes aren’t the only things getting spruced up for the season ahead. From looking picture-perfect in your annual holiday card photos to dressing up for intimate seasonal soirées, it’s time to get your skin and body holiday-ready. Whether you need a pedicure, Dermaplane, or something in between, now’s the time to do it. Here, local health and beauty experts weigh in on products and services to inspire a little self-care and help us achieve that much-needed glow for the holiday season.

It’s time to get your skin and body holiday-ready!

Collagen Facial

Forget the packages beneath the tree — having more youthful-looking skin might be the best present you can give yourself this year. We can’t stop the aging process altogether, but collagen has certainly been shown to “slow it down” by filling in fine lines and wrinkles. The Collagen Facial ($165) at Woo Skincare and Cosmetics in Green Hills offers your skin a boost of collagen, elastin and hydration — the perfect trio to give you that holiday glow you’re looking for.

Energizing Enzyme Peel

Your body isn’t the only thing that needs enough energy to keep up with the holiday hustle and bustle; your face needs a little boost, too! Suitable for all skin types, Therapy Systems‘ Energizing Enzyme Peel ($42) is made to nourish your skin and remove dead skin cells. It leaves your face toned, radiant, and ready for any seasonal gathering that comes your way. Find it for $42.

Glow Weekly Pads

While there may be no substitute for getting regular facials, Glow Weekly Pads ($95) from Nashville Cosmetic Surgery are a close second. The pads contain TCA and salicylic acid to help exfoliate dead skin cells, smooth skin texture and reduce the appearance of enlarged pores. Even better, they can be used all over your body to smooth and refresh your skin’s appearance.

Dermaplane

Dermaplane is becoming a popular way to diminish the appearance of fine lines and safely exfoliate dry, dead skin cells. As far as clinical procedures go, it’s non-invasive, and it even helps with smoother makeup application and enhancing the effects of skincare products. The Cosmetic Market offers Dermaplane sessions for $65 at both their Green Hills and Cool Springs locations.

Organic Skincare

Whether we’re talking about face wash, moisturizer or an all-over body lotion, matching a great beauty line with our skin type is a must. R+R Wellness, the spa inside downtown’s brand new Grand Hyatt Hotel, exclusively offers Privai, a line of organic skincare products designed by spa experts, starting at $6.95. Their herbal body scrub and body butter are two products we can’t live without. “Not only does the skincare duo leave your skin silky-smooth and hydrated, but it also has a warm seasonal scent that blends ginger, clove, sandalwood, and walnut,” explains R+R Wellness Spa Director Robyn Peacock. “We love incorporating these products into any spa service as an enhancement, or you can pick them up to recreate the spa experience at home or give them as a gift to someone special.”

Manicure and Pedicure

Local nail salon Poppy & Monroe, located in Germantown, offers a Wellness Manicure and Pedicure ($65 and $75, respectively) with Dazzle Dry Polish, which includes a plant-based eco-paraffin treatment that helps your hands and feet combat the cold weather, too. Owner Karen Kops says the treatment soothes and moisturizes chapped hands and feet, which is particularly prevalent this year given all of the additional handwashing we’re doing. The Wellness Manicure and Pedicure also includes Poppy & Monroe’s signature organic sugar scrub and targeted lymphatic massage techniques to help release toxins and relax tired muscles. And who doesn’t need a moment to relieve tension in the midst of the holiday stress? Since Dazzle Dry Polish dries in five minutes flat (we were skeptical, too, but it’s true!), you’ll be out the door and back to your holiday shopping in no time. Not to mention, the polish can last up to several weeks, and unlike gel polish, it can be removed at home when you decide to switch up your color for New Year’s Eve.

SilkPeel Dermalinfusion

Are you looking to even out your skin before the new year? For $175, Dermalinfusion is a non-invasive, three-in-one treatment that assists with skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, acne breakouts, aging, and dry skin. Mary Kathryn Hudson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Private Edition, says, “It gently and effectively exfoliates damaged skin cells and delivers a customized serum fusion to treat a variety of skin concerns. Choose the best infusion for the needs of your skin — Vitamin C, Hydrating, or Anti-Acne. The result is plump, hydrated, smooth and glowing skin.” It looks like the tree lights won’t be the only things glowing this holiday season!

Brightening Skin Polish

As the weather gets colder, we have to adjust our skincare routine to make up for it. While there are tons of products out there to choose from, APROPOS Day Spa owner Robin Haney recommends Total Balance Brightening Skin Polish ($44.50). Containing fruit acids, bamboo and pumice, it gently loosens dead cells to make your skin smoother and brighter. It can be used as a mask or a scrub to keep your complexion looking and feeling great.

Airbrush Spray Tan

Done right, a spray tan leaves you looking sun-kissed even if you haven’t made it to the beach all year. Blowout Co. owner Leslie Embry tells us, “We are now offering Norvell Venetian Airbrush Spray Tans ($45) at our Belle Meade location. The tan lasts for up to a week, and we carry a variety of Norvell products to extend the life of your spray tan as well as products to give you that tan look at home.”

Wishing you a happy holiday filled with some much-needed self-care!
