The Cotton Mill is celebrating spring 2011 in a big way: they’ve added shoes and they’ve combined their Lifestyle, Collection and Nicole Miller stores under one roof. Now, you can find your Steeplechase dress, ball gown, jeans, bags, shoes and perhaps a little piece for your home all in one place.
Elizabeth and I recently stopped by and here are some of our favorite finds:
Notice the painting behind the 3 Dot t-shirts? Similarly styled pieces of art are placed throughout the store. I didn’t realize that owner, Martha Nemer, is the artist behind these paintings. They are super inexpensive (the one here is just $75) and 100% of the profits are given to Martha’s brother’s foundation: The Melvin Case Christmas for Kids Foundation. So, as Paul Harvey used to say, “Now you know the rest of the story.”
One of my favorite things about The Cotton Mill has always been that I feel like I’m shopping in a home. The mixture of home accessories and seasonal decor provide happy surprises throughout the store.
But, the main focus at The Cotton Mill has always been, and shall always remain the clothes and the accessories. We couldn’t help but pull some outfits together for Steeplechase, as it’s been on our minds.
I know that it’s spring and color abounds. But, I’m a neutral girl and here are the things that I want to buy:
The Cotton Mill may have gotten its start selling preppy cotton pieces, but almost 25 years later, this store carries everything from BBQ casual to wedding dresses. We certainly can see why it’s been around so long.
