Cindy Wunsch: Artist, Teacher & She Throws a Heck of a Party

March 23, 2010 by Liza Graves

Nashville artist Cindy Wunsch is having an art show on March 27th from 4 – 7PM at Rumours on 12th Avenue (a great little spot if you have yet to check it out).  With this in mind, I figured it would be a great time to let you all know about her and how I came to find her work.  Here’s a quick peek at one of her pieces:

I love the bright colors with the neutral backdrop.

My path to initially finding Cindy all has to do with Facebook.  I received a ping on my Facebook account last September: Heather Buffkin: “Cindy Wunsch knows Birthdays! For a fun filled night, head to Studio Be and you just might find your Bliss…I can’t wait to go back!!! www.cindywunsch.com”  I knew I had heard of Cindy before, but all the enthusiastic responses on Facebook which ensued – each about how fabulous Cindy’s art was – really peaked my interest. Here are the creations that Heather and her friends made with Cindy’s direction at her studio, Studio BE, that prompted the Facebook declaration:

After seeing the paintings that Cindy helped these friends create, I knew I must go.   As you know, I’m a big believer in Girls Nights Out and this needs to be one (are you listening GNO crew?  We need to do this!)  This party is also fun for any budding artists that many of us have at home. Party favor is the painting…brilliant!

A fun birthday party for kids who aren’t so little anymore!

And equally fun for those kids who are still little!

If you are looking for another way to have a fabulous Girls Night Out, or date with your guy, head over to Rumours on 12th Ave this Saturday, March 27th – see the open invitation below – to see Cindy’s newest masterpieces while sipping on drinks and listening to some live music from Adam Ryan. Cindy’s art is all reasonably priced so don’t be shocked to see tons of pieces under $500.  And – they really do just add that cheery whimsical touch that all houses need.

Cindy’s artist statement: I am someone who dreams about flowers, who finds love angelic and who wonders about everything. I am a person who feels that the most romantic of life’s moments can be found in the ordinary. I am interested in creating works of art as poetic as a classic song, yet make you want to sing. Beneath the glossy covering of these images you might find wallpaper, wax, paint chips, and scraps of just about any kind, as well as unique experiences, big hopes and simple thoughts. I hope they make you wonder.

Well, her hope to make me wonder has happened.  I’m wondering where to put a Cindy Wunsch painting in my house…..
