You have 2-and-a-half weeks until Halloween, which means you still have time to decorate your home and get in the spirit. Thankfully it doesn’t take much effort to make a big impact around your house while embracing this fun holiday. You can go all harvesty with some pumpkins and gourds from your local farmers’ market or plant store; you can go elegant and slightly creepy with solely black and white décor; or you can embrace the orange, black, yellow and white traditional color scheme of Halloween with lots of fun crafts … you can do just about anything, but just do something!
Today we’re highlighting great décor to make your home festive and perhaps a bit creepy. We used the SB Guide category “Gifts & Home Accessories” to find some great stores in the area to help you out.
The Beveled Edge
No other store quite goes all out with the same gusto as The Beveled Edge when it comes to Halloween décor. It takes almost four days of hard work to get all the Halloween fun perfectly set up throughout the store, and it’s quite a feast for the eyes. Everything from mercury pumpkins and laughing skeletons to teeth soap and life-size grim reapers can be found at this store, which specializes in framing and gifts on White Bridge Road.
Harpeth Gallery and Obelisk
Venture into The Mall at Green Hills and stop by locally owned Absolution for some Halloween skulls. Seriously, they have so many skull options from scary to somehow elegant.
The Willow Tree
In Sylvan Park, head to The Willow Tree for these Sid Dickens pieces of art that can be added to any Halloween display for sophisticated elegance that can be used throughout the year:
In Berry Hill, get some white leather pumpkins at Gilchrist Gilchrist and use them for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Throughout town, stop by locally based Kirkland’s for accessibly priced Halloween fun. SB Note: all prices listed are retail, but almost all Halloween decorations are 25-40% off.
