Sporting an expansive and always-bustling wraparound porch in downtown Franklin, Frothy Monkey has it all. We’re talking an exceptional coffee program, a craft-inspired alcoholic beverage list, daily specials, and breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Each element is expertly executed and contributes to an atmosphere well suited for any occasion. Stop in for lunch and try the PMP sandwich (prosciutto, mozzarella, provolone) and an iced Monkey Mocha or High Garden Sing tea.

Hours: Sunday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
At Burger Up Cool Springs, the first offshoot of the popular 12South location in Nashville, the portions are larger, the menu is varied and the burgers are unmatched. The patio is decked out in reclaimed wood siding and lit with summery string lights—a homey atmosphere that makes the neighboring parking lot fade away. For the carnivorous set, Burger Up’s Bison Burger topped with romaine, tomato, fried red onion and jalapenos, white cheddar and honey Dijon aioli is our top pick. If you’re seeking salad, try the spinach salad with fried goat cheese and candied walnuts.

Whether you’re looking for dinner, drinks or a combo of both, Sopapilla’s is an ideal destination for some springtime outdoor dining. Set just off of Franklin Road near Moores Lane, Sopapilla’s patio seating feels like you’ve stolen away for a mini-vacation somewhere far from home. The menu boasts delicious flavors of New Mexico, but the tableside guacamole is the jewel in the Sopapilla’s crown. Oh, and the drink menu isn’t too shabby, either! Did someone say margaritas?!

Warm days beg for thirst-quenching relief. Skip sugary milkshakes and try the 100 percent whole fruit and vegetable juices or smoothies from Juice Bar—your body will thank you. On the smoothie side, we are big fans of the nourishing Green Smoothie and refreshing Mint to Be. If juicing is more your style, take your pick from a rainbow of options or go rogue and create your own combo. The brand new patio is large and inviting—a perfect spot to sit and sip.

Searching for a patio with a view? Well, it doesn’t get any more picturesque than the perch atop Arrington Vineyards. The tasting lodge, lined with picnic tables, overlooks rolling, vineyard-covered hills and offers a complementary space to have a picnic and drink wine purchased from the vineyard. There is no formal eatery at Arrington, so pack your favorite eats or have Simply Living Life, an affiliate of Arrington’s, prep a basket for you ahead of time. Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for a wine tasting—the wait can be long on pretty days, but with a vineyard as your party’s waiting room, there should be no complaints!
101 Market Exchange Court, Franklin

For fusion cuisine at its finest, check out the fun and innovative offerings at Wild Ginger in Cool Springs. Taking cues from Pan-Asian, South American and Western cultures, you’ll find everything from brisket tacos to colorful maki on the menu. The patio earned a place on our list thanks to its dreamy water installation and live music every Friday and Saturday evening.
Enjoy the weather and your hometown!
