This is an odd assortment of products to group together, but they are all things I am lovin’ these days. So, from food to hair to face, and to bad smellin’ people, take note!
Batter Blaster: Yes, pancakes that shoot out of a can just like cheese whiz. I have to say I practically made fun of my friend Mary when she told me how life-changing the Batter Blaster had been for her. I had to inform her that just because the can says “organic,” it doesn’t necessarily mean “good for you.”
Well, I checked out the ingredient list and I was surprised. I will absolutely buy this for my family. Don’t believe me? Check it out:
- Filtered water
- Organic wheat flour (unbleached) Organic cane sugar
- Organic whole egg solids
- Organic soybean powder
- Sodium lactate (lactic acid from beet sugar)
- DiCalcium phosphate (leavening agent)
- Sea salt
- Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda)
- Organic rice bran extract
My husband and kids gave them the ultimate compliment by declaring them “Better than Noshville Deli’s griddlecakes!” I know, I was shocked too. One can of Batter Blaster will feed a family of five for breakfast. If you are big eaters, grab two cans when you are at Kroger or Publix. (Harris Teeter does not sell it.) And, the name could not be more fun to say: Batter Blaster.
Certain Dri Deodorant: A reader emailed last summer about finding a strong, good deodorant that wouldn’t “pill” under her arms and wouldn’t leave white marks on her sleeveless black tops. Since then, I’ve spent way too much money trying out different deodorants. The best one, in my opinion, is Certain Dri. Shave in the a.m. and then before you go to bed, apply this deodorant. It absorbs and lasts for two days. Now, people afraid of aluminum absorption need to look somewhere else, as do those with sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and I can only use this product occasionally. But, boy does it work!
Therapy Systems Better than Cover: It’s a coin toss now about which I like better: the Bobbi Brown creamy eye concealer or the Therapy Systems Better than Cover. Bobbi has a wider color selection, but I like the way you can just dab the Therapy System concealer on because it’s packaged like chapstick. Both last the whole day, are creamy (never get cake-y) and are easy to use. I think concealers are very hard to find, and I’ve mentioned Bobbi Brown’s several times (it’s available at Woo), but add the Therapy version to my “this is great” list as well! Available at Cosmetic Market, Private Edition and the Therapy Systems store at The Mall at Green Hills.
L’Oreal EverStrong Overnight Conditioner: I’m a huge fan of the Bumble & Bumble super rich conditioner. It costs an arm and a leg, but I love it. I just found L’Oreal EverStrong leave-in conditioner and I really REALLY like it. I need to work with it a bit more to see if I actually LOVE it. But so far, it has true potential. This is a product that you use in conjunction with your in-the-shower conditioner as this one is applied to dry hair at night. I like it for me (medium thick but can frizz hair), my oldest daughter (mostly straight and thin hair) and my nine-year-old daughter, who has super curly, thick, long hair. Just one family was able to try this product on three very different heads of hair! And, when I ran out of my in-the-shower conditioner, and was panicked that I would not be able to get a brush through my hair, I was proven wrong. This product actually made my hair decent in my moment of need – because I used it the night before. Thumbs up.
TheraBreath – My bad habit is Diet Coke and fake sugars in general. And, aspartame gives me the worst breath. Studies support that this happens to lots of people. I formally apologize to everyone who is sometimes around me when I really need a breath mint – which usually has more aspartame. When I kick the habit, which I sometimes do, the bad breath goes away. In the meantime, TheraBreath – used regularly – is amazing. But, on those days that I forget to gargle, again, I apologize.
