Slow Hand Coffee + Bakeshop’s reopening was much anticipated, and we rejoiced when the day finally came for them to open their doors. Once a downtown cafe, the coffee and bakeshop relocated to East Nashville. The bright, welcoming space serves delicious drinks and some of the best avocado toast we’ve had. We will be back to try the butternut squash hash with wood roasted butternut squash, apple, crispy Brussels leaves, house-made chicken sausage and maple vinaigrette.
Now, we are anxiously awaiting news of the opening of Pelican & Pig, a restaurant concept by the same owners.

Peg Leg Porker is to thank for the seasoned cracklins that top the Crackle Shack Cheeseburger; Little Mosko’s created seasonal pie; and Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Company’s Bourbon Nib Brittle, chocolate sprinkles and salted caramel sauce can be found in the Caramel Bourbon Twist.

Don’t overlook the queso gringo, as it is something we haven’t seen anywhere else in town. Smoked gouda is poured over a black bean purée, pico de gallo and salsa. The tacos are small but mighty. We are particularly fond of the caramelized cauliflower taco.
