Fall is here! Yay!! And this month for “What to Wear,” we’re not only celebrating the change of season and cooler temperatures, we’re featuring three fantastic outdoor events that need to get on your calendar ASAP. We’re also adding something more to this monthly feature, highlighting the volunteers who are making Memphis a better place, one charity function at a time. Today, three volunteers from Art on Fire, the grand gathering at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, are modeling clothes from 20Twelve, Kittie Kyle and Sorelle.
Art on Fire co-chair Melinda Liles and committee members Mary Conley and Ellie Norris are our models this month. Each of the women is showcasing a great look for their own event plus looks for the inaugural Memphis Food & Wine Festival at the Memphis Botanic Garden and the Moon River Music Festival at the Levitt Shell. Take a look at what to wear to some great October events in Memphis!

Our models this month are (L-R) Art on Fire committee members Ellie Norris and Mary Conley and co-chair Melinda Liles.

What to wear? Held on the South Lawn of the Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Art on Fire includes live entertainment, fire-themed performers, a huge bonfire and more than 30 participating restaurants. It’s a fun and fiery event where jeans, sweaters, suede and boots are all in fashion! Your shoes need to be comfortable enough to walk and stand in for a few hours, so leave the pointy heels at home.

What to Wear? The inaugural Memphis Food & Wine Festival is the brainchild of a group of Memphis foodies, including Jose Gutierrez of River Oaks Restaurant, and features 29 chefs from around the South and across the country, including a who’s who of Memphis chefs and culinary superstar and global restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Thirty-six wineries will pour more than 100 wines and champagnes and the evening benefits the FedExFamilyHouse at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
