March typically marks the beginning of the spring season in Memphis, but let’s be real here: Our weather recently has been anything but predictable. While a spring warm-up is certainly on its way, when it comes to choosing what to wear for the month, our mercurial temperatures mean you have to be ready for anything. We stopped by a few of our favorite boutiques to find options for three upcoming events, from a night at the FedEx Forum to a black-tie soirée.

The Event: Memphis Grizzlies games at the FedEx Forum

  • Various dates from Wednesday, March 2, 2016, through Saturday, March 19, 2016
  • Learn more here.

With only a handful of regular season home games left for Memphis Grizzlies fans to attend, now’s your chance to get your grit and grind on and support our home team.

What to wear? Thousands of folks from all over will pack the arena, giving you a good opportunity to show off your fashion prowess to the masses. Sporty and stylish isn’t an oxymoron. Opt for layers that you can peel off when you get hot from cheering the Grizz to a win. We hit Muse on South Main to find three great Grizzlies game-night looks.

Look #1:

Dress up a typical hoodie look by choosing a lacy and velvet one from 4 Love and Liberty: $310 for the hoodie, $295 for pants. Layer a 4 Love and Liberty top underneath in the same color, $275, and for a fun touch top the whole thing off with a red Peter Grimm hat, $55, and multilayered pearl and coin-style Bella Rose necklace, $345.

The second company of the revered Houston Ballet visits the Memphis area to perform an array of dance acts ranging from contemporary pieces to the classics we know and love.

What to wear? A trip to the ballet calls for something stylish with classic lines, but don’t think you have to dress super stuffy. And since the ballet performs at the end of the month, you won’t feel out of place wearing bright pops of color and thinner fabrics. We stopped by Lori James and spotted these three great looks.
