Spring is in the air, and we just love the way the city starts buzzing when the weather starts to warm up! With the change of the seasons, events in Memphis are happening left and right, and we don’t want you to miss a thing. With help from stylist Alexandra Scharff of City Chic Living, we are bringing you looks and trends that will have you looking fabulous for all of your social engagements this month. Oak Hall, Mednikow, Betty Hays Boutique and Coming Attractions have your back when it comes to looking and feeling très chic.
For our March edition of “What to Wear,” we are excited to feature iconic women who have made their mark on Memphis in their respective fields. Judy McLellan, Brittany Spence and Babbie Lovett are names that immediately sprung to mind.
For 19 years, Judy McLellan was named Crye-Leike’s #1 Agent until she was gifted the lifetime achievement award. Judy is a lifelong Memphian and has forged a path for herself as a force to be reckoned with in the real estate world. Brittany Spence is the founder and executive director of The Forrest Spence Fund, a nonprofit that, in memory of her own son Forrest, provides non-medical support and needs to critically or chronically ill children and their families. Over the past six decades, Babbie Lovett has built a rich and fascinating career in theater, fashion and modeling and continues to share her love of and passion for fashion through producing and hosting countless fashion shows across the Mid-South.
Spending the day with these luminaries at the always-stunning Pink Palace Museum was our treat, and we are grateful that they were willing to model for us!

Green shoes are welcome and “green-tie” is optional for this fun and whimsical event. Ron Childers and Joyce Peterson are your hosts for a night of dinner and dancing, plus a wine pull and a chance to win $30,000 at the Sham-Rock-N-Roll. Proceeds from the evening help keep Shelby Farms Park and Shelby Farms Greenline clean, safe and green.
What to Wear? “Green-tie optional” may be a play on words, but the green shoes are no joke! If possible, find a green heel to wear to this fun and festive event. Also, don’t feel tied to dresses for cocktail hour. If dresses aren’t your thing, there are plenty of ways to make a pantsuit feel formal.

What to Wear? Business casual does not mean boring! You always want to let your personal style shine through. Add a fun necklace, go with a bright pattern or top off a clean look with a bold leather jacket.
