Memphian Myrna Halpern, founder of The Montage Collection, has fueled a thriving jewelry design business since 2001, creating unique and timeless pieces with vintage inspiration. “I believe that businesses must have an inner soul, a set of core beliefs upon which to rely,” Myrna says. “Within the soul of The Montage Collection is a commitment to create eco-friendly designs by repurposing, a desire to empower women to cultivate their talents and a mission to support local charitable causes.”
Montage just launched a new collection, “Lexie” for Autumn/Winter 2013. The Lexie Collection stands apart from this designer’s body of work as an expression of a sister’s support and compassion. These distinctive pieces represent the same artistry and quality Montage is known for, but this grouping is only available for sale on www.myrnahalpern.com or through private shows, and a portion of the proceeds from the sales of this collection are being donated to Pancreatic Cancer Research in memory of Myrna’s sister, Shari Meyers.
“In branding The Lexie Collection, it was important to identify our customer who we refer to as The Lexie Girl,” notes Myrna. The Lexie Girl is a busy, young woman with an active social life. She is traveled and adaptable to her surroundings, so she is open to new fashion concepts she discovers in magazines and blogs (like StyleBlueprint.com, of course!)
Like the conceptual Lexie Girl, the designers of The Montage Collection had to be versatile when creating the collection, taking note of the latest trends among the younger demographic. “I have noticed lately that fashion is somewhat counter intuitive,” Myrna observes. “This fall, designers are showing lots of black and cream, as well as pastels, which is why I chose burnished metals and pearls for Lexie for fall. I was reaffirmed when I read an article in August Vogue about the new take on pearls being far beyond prim.”
The Lexie Girl, Myrna explains, is very much into social media. As part of the Lexie launch, The Montage Collection is offering current and new Facebook fans an opportunity to win this stunning Cordelle cuff made of hand-rubbed, antiqued metal and embellished with Swarovski rhinestones and pearls. You simply need to become a Facebook fan (i.e., “Like” them on Facebook) to enter. The contest will last until the end of August, and a winner will be announced September 1, 2013 on The Montage Collection Facebook page!
The Montage Collection is also on Instagram and Pinterest!
Currently, Myrna’s Montage Collection Jewelry can be found in Memphis at Oak Hall, Joseph, Kittie Kyle, and Bella Viaggia. In Nashville her jewelry is at The Perfect Pair, and in Atlanta at Potpourri, Etc. East, and Deka. These are just a few of the many high-end boutiques across the country who feature her unique beaded jewelry with its signature vintage style.
Thank you, Myrna, for highlighting the story behind Lexie for fall/winter 2013! And good luck to all of our readers who enter The Montage drawing!
