Carol Peretz is currently holding a trunk show at Kittie Kyle in Chickasaw Oaks Village.
Do you have a special occasion this season, or even a springtime wedding on the calendar? Carol is a NYC-based fashion designer known for her ability to achieve timeless appeal within the context of current trends. Her name is synonymous with formal gowns, but Carol’s more casual designs are equally enticing.
Welcome back to Memphis, Carol! Thank you for sharing behind-the-scenes images of a few couture dresses, as well as highlights of the resort 2013-2014 Twisted collection—a daytime line that is part of her current Kittie Kyle trunk show. Enjoy meeting Carol today on StyleBlueprint, and then head to Kittie Kyle to meet her in person! Her show runs through Saturday, August 24.
Q: What is Carol Peretz “known” for?
A: I am known for unusual dresses, gowns, separates, primarily dressy ones. I have a loyal and growing clientele for mother-of-the-bride/mother-of-the–groom dresses, bar/bat mitzvah, etc., and galas.
Q: What is unique about this season’s collection? Are your designs influenced by fall/winter 2013-2014 trends?
A: Each collection is unique because it is not derivative of anyone else’s work–it’s purely from my own head, taste, sensibility and creativity. I care about trends only to the extent that my designs are viable in the current marketplace. My current collections include bold shapes, fabrics and patterns as well as the opposite, as in designs that are very delicate.
Q: Your dresses are especially popular in the South. How do your designs speak to the Southern woman?
A: My dresses are popular in the South because women still wear dresses, and the lifestyle presents more dressy events. But I have notable markets in the Northeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, as well.
Don’t miss Carol at Kittie Kyle! Her show started yesterday (August 22) and continues through tomorrow (August 24). The Twisted collection ranges in price from $530 to $600. Carol’s couture gowns start at $1300. If you have not introduced your wardrobe to Carol Peretz, you should. Just ask StyleBlueprint founders Elizabeth Fox and Liza Graves, who have both worn their Carol Peretz dresses to formal events in Nashville.
