April 4–6, 2014: The Memphis Garden Club presents the Memphis Flower Show Memphis/Milano, at Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
The creative inspiration of the 2014 Memphis Flower Show: Memphis Milano depicts the international movement of the 1980s that was a reaction against modernism. Memphis Milano, the exhibit, is a collection of industrialist furniture and design objects owned by local Memphian, Dennis Zanone.
The Memphis Flower Show, a Garden Club of America Major Flower Show, is sponsored biennially by Memphis Garden Club and Dixon Gallery and Gardens. The purpose of this show is to exhibit outstanding horticulture, conservation, floral interpretations of fine art, and photography as well as to allow Memphis-area youth participants to join in an educational exhibit. April 5, 2014: Memphis Drumline at GPAC
The Germantown Performing Arts Center (GPAC) will offer a Memphis Drumline performance as part of GPAC’s celebrated music education program, Peanut Butter & Jam (marking its 18th season this year). While all ages are guaranteed a good time, Peanut Butter & Jam events are geared towards families and children, introducing youth to a wide variety of musical instruments and styles.
On April 5, the Memphis Drumline performance will begin at 10:30 a.m. Celebrate spring with an outdoor concert featuring the very best percussionists in Memphis! April 11, 2014: Wild World of Wine and Beer at the Memphis Zoo
A fun night in the Courtyard of the Memphis Zoo: the 16th Annual Wild World of Wine and Beer. Enjoy food, wine, beer and a silent auction for artwork from some of the Zoo’s very own artists. April 11–12, 2014: Lichterman Nature Center Plant Sale
Join the Lichterman Nature Center for their spring 2014 plant sale on Friday, April 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Volunteers grow thousands of native and wildlife-friendly plants for this once-a-year sale. Experts are on hand to answer questions about the plants offered as well as other gardening topics. Locally harvested seeds, selections from the Lichterman Salvia Collection, heirloom plants and more.

April 11–12, 2014: Memphis Botanic Garden Spring Plant Sale
Memphis Botanic Garden’s largest plant sale of the year, April 11 to 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will feature a huge assortment of perennials, annuals, tropicals, herbs, shrubs, and trees, plus specialty garden items by local artisans. Expert Garden staff and Master Gardeners will be on hand to assist with purchases and plant care tips. Stop by and spin the Earth Challenge Trivia Wheel for a chance to win an eco-prize!

This annual service of music and reflection performed by the Lindenwood chancel choir, orchestra and soloists will begin at 5:30 p.m. on April 18. This year’s sale, Friday and Saturday (April 25 and 26) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature a wide range of plants from difficult-to-find natives to the latest cultivars of woody and herbaceous perennials. Shoppers will be able to choose from many new introductions as well as award-winning favorites. This year they have included a wide selection of grasses and many dwarf varieties of several different plants.
