Sister Parish-Inspired Bed
The Maddock Bed with upholstered headboard and custom canopy by Celerie Kemble for Henredon is for someone who truly loves luxury and drama, and has an appreciation for high decorator style. Celerie Kemble designed this bed as a tribute to design icon and New York socialite Sister Parish, who decorated the Kennedy White House and whose firm, Parish-Hadley, was a mid-20th Century design powerhouse in New York City. The bed is inspired by Parish’s upholstered poster beds and features tapered, turned bamboo “bunches” rising from octagonal bases to decorative finials. Available at Chestnut Hall: chestnuthall.com
An English Garden
This garden table and chair set made from cast iron. The chairs are vintage garden as well as the table’s frame, and the top is fashioned from an ornate vintage iron grate. Absolutely stunning in person! Originally painted white (yes, the paint is the original!) and the years have brought a distinguished patina from the iron beneath. This grouping belongs in an English garden setting. Found at Memphis Waterworks: thepalladiogroup.com

While his work is represented year-round at Social, there is Ben Caldwell trunk show at Social going on through Sept. 16th. His copper serving pieces are ultra-popular and ultra attractive. He will also be bringing a selection of his silver pieces to this show. Check it out at Social.
Works by William Eggleston
William Eggleston, born in Memphis and raised in North Mississippi, was one of the first non-commercial photographers to work in color. Add one of his pieces to your art collection and you will be the proud owner of work by an artist who is also on display in the Museum of Modern Art. He photographs commonplace subjects, literally photographing the world around him. His images monumentalize everyday subjects; everything is equally important; every detail deserves attention. This artist’s work expresses beauty in the everyday and reminds us to stop, be still and observe. davidluskgallery.com

Most pinot noir fans are familiar with the Meiomi Belle Glos from Caymus Vinyards. Today, we introduce you to a close relative of the well-known Meiomi: the Belle Glos Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2012. It is a pinot noir with aromas of juicy dark fruit, moist soil, vanilla and coco that burst out of the glass. The palate is rich, but not as heavy as a Cabernet, so ideal for the mild transitional months of fall. Flavors of pie filling, plum, cured meats and root beer enliven the senses. This wine has structural integrity with great depth and is a lesser known step up from the Meiomi. Available at Buster’s Liquors & Wines: bustersliquors.com
Here’s a toast (of the Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2012, of course!) to the finer things in life!
