For the fourth consecutive year, The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft (KMAC) presented its annual fundraiser KMAC Couture on Saturday, April 16. Featuring almost 50 different designs by artists, designers, and students, this event showcases wearable art. All designs were handmade, down to the very last details.
The runway show was a sold out event, held in the middle of Main St., between 7th and 9th Streets. A large tent was put in place and the runway and all seating built from scratch in the middle of downtown Louisville. Guests were advised to wear white to the party, creating a blank palette for the beautiful designs to shine. Guests enjoyed a reception beforehand with various models wearing art pieces posing throughout the party.
The models were stunning and each outfit had something special to showcase. Guests applauded, oohed and aaahed at each design, fervently reading about the designers and their pieces in their programs as they saw the models.
We cannot wait to see the designs for next year!
