It sounds like a dream. Spend $100 on a raffle ticket, and win a new home in Norton Commons valued at more than $800,000 as a grand prize. Or perhaps, if you don’t win the home, the consolation prize might have you driving away in a new BMW 2 Series Convertible plus $10,000 cash. This isn’t a dream, but a charitable endeavor to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital. There are 12,000 tickets sold, and the winner will be drawn on November 17 during the Snow Ball Gala held at the Omni Hotel. Each year this fundraiser receives more attention, and this year brings the most ticket sales to date.

“We are so honored to partner with Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation for the eighth year to raise funds for Norton Children’s Hospital,” says Marilyn Osborn Patterson, Marketing Director for Norton Commons. “The beauty of this collective effort is the involvement of so many area businesses donating their time and talent. It seems everyone involved has been touched personally by an experience with Norton Children’s Hospital, and it motivates each of them to pay it forward.”

The living room makes a bold statement with its bluish-black walls and a sleek, linear fireplace.
The flow is effortless as the living room spills into the bright, airy kitchen.

The money raised from this year’s raffle will benefit the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit slated for completion in 2019. More than 550 Kentucky children are born each year with heart defects, the most common birth abnormality. The unit will feature private rooms dedicated to those children recovering from various heart procedures, and the new 14-bed unit will offer space for families to stay with their children as they heal. It will be staffed by additional specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff and other professionals focused solely on heart care.

The giveaway home was beautifully executed by the Ramage Company with interior design by Leslie Cotter Dorazil of Leslie Cotter Interiors. This beaux-arts-inspired beauty features three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, along with a stunning third-floor terrace that provides sweeping views of the lush community of Norton Commons. While most homes opt for one front door, this home features three pinnacle black-clad doors with circular spacer bars, giving the façade an upscale look. The inside boasts 12-foot ceilings, arched windows that flood the home with an abundance of natural light, along with tons of additional details that make the home unique. The architectural elements sprinkle a sophisticated flair that spans from room to room.
