November brings chilly weather, bonfires and one of our favorite holidays: Thanksgiving! If you can’t wait to embrace the month of November and all that it brings to your schedule (and wardrobe), check out what events we’re excited about and our style suggestions for your social agenda.

This month, we are highlighting the Breeders’ Cup at Churchill Downs, Louisville Mashed at the Frazier History Museum and The 95th Annual Bachelors’ Ball at the Pendennis Club. To help you figure out what to wear to each event, we visited local boutiques Something BlueApricot Lane and Water + Oak Outdoor Company to find these fabulous looks. Louisville blogger Danielle Davis of Lou What Wear models today’s looks on the gorgeous grounds of Brown-Forman.

The Event: Breeders’ Cup

  • November 3 & 4, 2017
  • Gates open at 12:30 p.m.
  • Tickets start at $5 and can be purchased here.
  • For more information, visit churchilldowns.com.

Hold your horses, Louisville, it’s time to place your bets for the Breeders’ Cup. This annual Churchill Downs event is a Louisville classic. While the actual race is not being held at Churchill Downs this year, you can still watch and wager on the Breeders’ Cup Championships from Del Mar Racetrack while watching live racing at the Louisville track.

What to wear: You’ll see a little bit of everything for this racing event, but we recommend keeping it on the fancier side. A pop of color, an elegant dress and comfy booties are all great choices. It may be a little chilly, but the good news is that the Breeders’ Cup will be viewed indoors, so you won’t have to step outside unless you want to. We’re showing you two bold, trendy looks to make you feel like a million bucks on race day.
