Seviche: A Tried and True Favorite

Seviche is a StyleBlueprint favorite, especially for their fresh selections, their great patio and ambiance. I still remember with fondness eating at Seviche when it was about the quarter of the size it is now, with one bathroom located in the center of the restaurant. It is huge now by comparison, with a spacious bar, party room and large patio. Chef Anthony Lamas now has entire walls showcasing all his well-deserved awards.

I took the co-founder of StyleBlueprint, Elizabeth Fox, here for dinner when she was up for a visit recently. We know what a foodie town Louisville is, and it was great showing a Nashvillian some of our best restaurants and that we can compete with any restaurant scene in Nashville. This was one of the places on my mental list that I felt would prove to her that Louisville truly was a foodie town. We had a hard time narrowing down our choices from the menu and decided to split many things. 

The calamari is always at the top of the list. It doesn’t matter if I am the only one who will eat it, it is my favorite in town because of all of the toppings.

Next was a fried green tomato appetizer. This was pure tomato love, stacked up on a plate.

Fried Green Tomatoes with Lemon Habanero Mississippi Comeback sauce. I had no idea what that meant, and I asked our managing editor Amy, who is from MIssissippi and tells me Comeback Sauce is a Mississippi version of remoulade, which explains why it tastes like heaven!

You know I love salads, so of course we had to order one on our visit.

For our entree, we ordered the fish tacos–another standard order in my book.

Mahi Mahi Tacos with Cumin Lime Aioli, Cabbage and Pico de Gallo, with a side of saffron rice.

Though we were too stuffed for dessert, our neighbor ordered this avocado for dessert. Look closely, it’s ice cream and chocolate.

There were only two of us, or else I would have probably ordered the whole menu for everyone to try. Nights are getting cooler, meaning they are not 98 degrees anymore, so head on over to the patio for a great drink selection and great menu.

And best of all, our Nashville girl was delighted with the food and the restaurant. Next time, we’ll save room for the ceviche.
