All the bills from Christmas are coming in now. So, money is a little tight if you catch my drift. But now is the best time to shop and to capitalize on all the great deals in town.
Didn’t get the necklace you wanted for Christmas? Never fear! Jewelry in most boutiques around town has been seriously marked down. Here are some great necklaces from Dress & Dwell. dressanddwell.com
Everyone got a personalized necklace but you? Check these ones out from Dandelion. Also, these make a great gifts for a friend, new mom, grandmother, etc. Priced from $68 to $88, these are a fraction of the cost sold other places (where they range from $198 to $300). Delivery is in 10 days after order placed. dandelionhome.com
Want name brands for half off? I mean name brands: Alexander McQueen, Marchesa, Milly, Shoshanna, Vince, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Taylor. This is the time to start thinking about Derby, spring weddings, black tie events in the spring. So many of these beautiful dresses can be worn year-round. I found these lovelies at Peacock Boutique. shopthepeacock.com
All luxurious fabrics can be found for half their regular price at boutiques around town. These suede jeans from Joie at Blink Boutique are indeed a luxury. Granted, they are almost $1000 full price, but if $500 pants are in your budget, by all means start here. They are so incredibly soft and warm and divine. www.blinklouisville.com
I know you want a leather jacket. Sure would be fun to have something different than a black one. Consider a trendy jacket for half-off and get your wear out of it for one season at least, without spending a fortune.
This white studded jacket is at Apricot Lane for $49. Shown here with red jeans and lots of cute necklaces. apricotlanelouisville.com
6 p.m. Outlet, otherwise known as Zappos’ outlet, is the place where all the returns go from Zappos. All of the shoes ordered over Christmas are being returned now and are up to 75% off. Think Frye Boots, Uggs, Stuart Weitzman, Cole-Haan, Nike and so many other brand names for such a discount. This is well worth the 20 minute drive south from Louisville. Read my post from last year if you need further convincing: styleblueprint.com/louisville/everyday/its-zappos-time.
Hats and Fascinators for Derby
Don’t think I’m crazy, but considering some ladies spend over $200 on their headwear for Derby, now is great time to buy that headwear for half-price. Why not? Buy your hat first and then find a dress later … or now (see Fancy Dresses above!). These are made locally by HeadCandi by Britni Knable and are available at Block Party Handmade Boutique in SoFo. blockpartyhandmade.com
Sheets and luxury bedding
Now is the time to buy bedding and Peacock Alley is a personal favorite. The Curtain Exchange is marking all their Peacock Alley and Eastern Accents bedding off 20% from January 21 to February 28 (not to be combined with any other offer). thecurtainexchange.com
Everyone has a resolution to get fit and all fitness places in town are vying for your business. Here are three great offers right now:
Act quickly on this one. The YMCA’s all over Louisville are waiving their joining fee until January 22, 2014 (that’s tomorrow). The YMCA has something for everyone, truly. www.ymcalouisville.org

Half-Off Wine Nights
Eater Louisville has so kindly compiled a list of places where wine is half-off everywhere around town. Many many thanks for this one. Check out this great site: louisville.eater.com
Everything from stockings to topiaries to this awesome lit twig tree is 50% off at Urban Farmhouse Market. Christmas decor is marked down all over town. If you are like me and have the requisite loss of at least ten ornaments a year, this is a good time to replace them. www.theurbanfarmhousemarket.com
Last year’s Merchandise
All shop owners are either at market or just returning from market. That means they are making room for the loads of new merchandise coming in the next couple of months. For you, that means lots of bargains. The Bargain Nook upstairs at Colonial Designs, for example, has everything from a beautiful lime green nailhead headboard to silk florals to monkeys. Always worth a look. colonialdesigns.net
Enjoy your deals. They are a great way to spend your Christmas money, right?
