As I’m sure many of you have heard, Blink has merged with Rodes. And as a part of this merger, Rodes has renovated its entire women’s section to seamlessly include Blink’s collection. So now, with these two stores under one roof, they have amassed quite a collection of brands. The space is fresh, bright and modern. More than just a coat of paint, the overall vibe is completely new and refreshed, too!
As part of the renovation, Blink’s collection now occupies the front of the store. The checkout area, which was in the center of the store, is now in back. The center of the store is now the shoe, jewelry and purse area, complete with sofas and chairs for limitless shoe fittings. The dressing rooms have been revamped, as well, with larger spaces and a large common area with a pedestal for women to stand on while they get in-house alterations.
Rodes owner Susan Vogt used Ron Wolz at Bittners to help with the overall decorating and design. She also did some of the work herself, along with employees’ input.
It’s the little touches, as well. The center of the store now sports a large chandelier on a painted tray ceiling made to look like suede. Beautiful tile work sets the backdrop of the checkout wall, along with a custom mirror and modern light fixtures.
So the changes are all fabulous. But what does this mean for shoppers? Here’s what you have to look forward to on your next visit:
- Tory Burch
- Kate Spade
- St. John
- Stuart Weitzman
- Loeffler Randall
And that’s just a small sampling of the brands housed under this roof. Do you see anything you like? With the combination of these two collections, the lines are top-notch.
Under the watchful eyes of Susan Vogt, owner of Rodes, and Cara King, owner of Blink, there is absolutely something for everyone in the store.
Here’s to another 100 years Rodes! Remember to shop local, Louisvillians!
