I have been canvassing the Greater Louisville area for a couple of weeks, looking for gifts for our Holiday Gift Guide (be sure to read tomorrow’s post) and December Finds (next week), amongst other goodies. I have admired the beautiful decor in all these stores and picked up many good ideas, and there is a trend that keeps reappearing over and over that’s a simple, subtle idea that can morph into many things: TWIGS.
There are many variations of the twig here. Some are flocked, some are lit, some are white, some are natural, and all are beautiful in their simplicity.
Here are twigs used as centerpieces.

These twigs are pretty by themselves or in a grouping.

Who would have thought? Stick twigs in your trees for added texture. This tree at Colonial Designs has cotton twigs, as well. (Loved this idea!)

Urban Farmhouse Market had twigs and hydrangeas stuck in their trees.

My favorite mantel with flocked, lit twigs amidst orchids at Colonial Design.

Digs had great decorative twigs as well. Here is a twig wreath.

Digs also has twig trees that look great in a planter.

Digs also had full-size white twig trees. These were decorative, but will be sold upon request.

Inspired? Might be time to toss all the red and go for a more natural “organic” look this year.
