If you are against fur, this post is not for you. Stop reading now and I’ll see you Monday.
This weather makes me want to wear a fur and possibly find a fur snuggie to wear on the couch. This is probably not politically correct, but there’s a reason why furs have been worn for centuries for warmth. They are seriously warm and cozy.
Unless you are going to trap and sew that fur yourself, you are going to pay a pretty penny for a new beautiful fur. But there are other ways to get a wonderful fur coat, for a fraction of the price.
Consignment
Most consignment stores in town sell used furs. Don’t let the “used” fool you. At every consignment store that I have seen furs, they are top-notch, high quality, gorgeous furs. Most of these furs are newer styles, and by newer I mean within the last 20 years.
Here are some beauties at Margaret’s Consignments now.
Vintage
Vintage furs are amazing, truly because they are made from animals that nobody uses for fur anymore. They are rare, well made and definitely different. They also range in price from extremely affordable to quite pricey. I headed over to Elizabeth’s Timeless Attire and 2023 Antiques on Frankfort Avenue to check them out.
Warm yet?
