Holiday Pop-Up Shoppes

When: Through December 22
Hours: Fridays, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sundays, noon to 6 p..m. 

Trendy Westport Village comes alive every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with their fun festival of shopping. Pick up unique gifts from a variety of vendors, including Work the Metal, Red Tree Furniture, Buy Socks You All, and Shell-bees Gourmet Sea Salts and Spices. Lights Under Louisville

When: Through January 4, 2020
Hours: Monday through Friday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Pack your car with family and friends, and enjoy a 30-minute ride through the MEGA Caverns nestled under the Louisville Zoo. You’ll experience a magnificent underground holiday light show — the only one in the world! Plus, more than 850 brightly lit characters like Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, ice skaters, elves and reindeer, are playfully set along this underground passageway. Holidays at the Big Bat, Featuring Grand Slam Wonderland

When: Through January 5, 2020

Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is getting into the seasonal spirit this month with a variety of family-friendly holiday activities. On December 7 and 21, Mrs. Claus makes a special appearance with singing and story time; on December 8, 14, 15 and 22, Santa stops at the museum for photo ops. Throughout the season, there’s more fun with video game tournaments, snowball fights and craft making. Admission is free for kids every Saturday and Sunday through December 20. Crestwood Festival of Nativities

When: December 5-7

Enjoy this free community-wide event hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Join your family and friends to experience this holiday tradition that features more than 600 nativity displays, as well as treats, live artists, a Christmas concert presented by area churches and organizations, and the wonderful Living Nativity presentation. Elfapalooza

When: December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21

Dress in your holiday finery and head downtown to the historic Galt House Hotel, where you’ll be greeted by a winter wonderland filled with holiday crafts and reindeer games. Yummy treats like popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate are there for the taking, while grownups can enjoy special adult beverages. Events include pictures with Santa at 5 p.m., Elf School from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a holiday movie at 7 p.m. Santa pictures are $25, and there’s free admission with a donation of a children’s toy. The Flea Off Market Holiday Bazaar & Gift Sale

When: December 7-8
Hours: Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spend the weekend shopping from more than 100 vendors as you enjoy live music, food truck fare and a festive atmosphere. Before you leave, swing by the Girls Scouts’ booth and let them wrap your presents. Admission is free, and holiday spirit is guaranteed! Learn more HERE.

Santa’s Safari

When: December 7, 8, 14, 15

The Louisville Zoo welcomes Santa, Mrs. Claus and Frosty the Snowman for Santa’s Safari. Join the elves at Santa’s workshop to create fun holiday crafts, enjoy seasonal treats whipped up by Mrs. Claus, sing your favorite Christmas songs, and take a picture with old St. Nick. Your Santa Safari passport leads you through the Zoo’s heated buildings to learn more about the furry, feathered and ferocious animals who reside there. This is a special ticketed event. For Louisville Zoo members, the cost is $15.95 for ages 3 and older, children ages 2 and under are $8.50. Non-members pay $20.95 for ages 3 and older, and $11 for 2 and under. Made Market

When: Saturday, December 7
Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Head to Mellwood Art Center to knock out your holiday shopping at Made Market. Some of the best local makers will be as offering their wares for your holiday gifting needs. Norton Commons Holiday Open House

When: Saturday, December 7

Complete your shopping in just one day at this terrific all-in-one locale where you can grab exclusive deals, promotions and holiday sales from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Santa will be present for a meet and greet from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. And take a ride around the Commons in a horse-drawn carriage from 5 p.m.to 7 p.m. Lots of fun pop-up shops will be open that weekend at the cottages at Norton Commons, including Awesome Opossum, Annie Boutique, Fleur de Lisas, Jeweled Goose and Tory Burch. The Flea Off Market has joined forces with Louisville’s new urban market, Logan Street Market, for this one-weekend shopping event. Enjoy warm drinks, overhead heaters and a bevy of items to shop from. Learn more HERE.

Christmas in Candyland

When: December 7, 14, 21, 23

The beloved children’s board game comes to life at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. The story revolves around Nick and Noelle, who receive a ticket to play a special edition of Candyland in a magical world, where they meet characters like Holly the Jolly Rancher and Captain Cookie. This is an interactive musical filled with sweet and tempting surprises. Breakfast and lunch performances are available. Holiday Candle Making Class

When: December 9

Join YayMaker Louisville and host Allison Lewis at Against the Grain Brewery, for an evening of fun and creativity, as you learn how to make your own candles. These are great items to give to family and friends for the holidays, or to keep for yourself to decorate your home. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is $45 per person.
