Remember a couple of weeks ago when I wrote a post about how chevrons were trending in home decor? Did any of you go out and buy this yet?

I have to have this “ottoman pouf” just for the name “pouf” alone.
Yep, I didn’t think so. I love the pouf too, but that’s a conscientious purchase. Also a little hard to fit into the back of your car. And possibly hard to hide whimsical purchase from husband.
Allow me to introduce you to the pouf’s cousin, another quite popular girl these days:

Chevron bracelet, Junior’s Department at Nordstrom
This chevron cuff, discovered by my daughter at Nordstrom, is a little easier to buy than a pouf. (She’s still vying for it, btw.)
But here is my point, Chevrons are trending in jewelry (wearable art) as much as they are in design. Wearing a chevron necklace is as easy as buying a chevron pillow. It gives the same effect of making a bold but simple statement. Now that I have mentioned this to you, you will start noticing them everywhere. They show up as chevrons or arrows in jewelry.
Last week I was at Rodeo Drive picking out outfits for a photo shoot for nFocus magazine and I noticed this beautiful case of jewelry.

House of Harlow 1960 at Rodeo Drive
Then, I remembered listening to Nicole Ritchie being interviewed by Gayle King on the radio earlier this summer. She has launched an entire line of jewelry, paying homage to arrows and other tribal markings, called the House of Harlow 1960. After listening to that interview, all I could think about was that Nicole Ritchie is a repeat headband offender and a strange namer of her children. Her son’s name is Sparrow, for Pete’s sake.

Try, here, just to concentrate on the ring, not on the strange headband.
But I have to admit, her jewelry is impressive. Some pieces are big and bold, others more subtle. Here’s a sampling of what Rodeo Drive is carrying by House of Harlow.

Double leather and metal clasp bangle bracelet.

My favorite piece, the tri-color cuff.

Nicole is wearing this ring in blue in the above picture.
Bravo, Nicole! You have come a long way since the days of being BFF’s with Paris Hilton. Her jewelry is beautiful and substantial. House of Harlow is a good place to start, and there are many other places to find chevrons and arrows, too.
Etsy is a goldmine (pun intended) of beautiful handcrafted arrow and chevron jewelry. See what I found for you below.

This pendant available on Etsy.

Rock crystal and brass chevron necklace with turquoise, on Etsy.

Leather arrow earrings, on Etsy.

This is called the Turquoise Spike Pyrite Crystals Arrow Shield Statement necklace. Whew, that’s exhausting to say in one breath.
And last, the designer Rachel Roy (no, not Rachel Ray of the 30-minute meal) has some beautiful arrow jewelry.

Cross Stack ring
This is an easy trend to wear, considering the last time you probably saw arrows worn as ornament, it probably looked like this, right?

You can wear an arrow without looking like a Wild and Crazy Guy.
