“In-between” dressing is tough. It’s not freezing anymore, but it sure as heck isn’t warm. What’s a gal to do with so many killer events on the March horizon? We teamed up with the stylish Mandy Rye (you know her as the blogger and shop owner behind Waiting on Martha) to model a mix of local retailers ranging from the locally owned (Ann Mashburn, Bella Bag, Gunner & Lux, Res Ipsa and Empire State Finery) to some of our favorite go-tos at Lenox Square (like the new DVF store! Squee!) so we could break down the nuts and bolts of dressing for the coming month’s most anticipated happenings for you, dear reader.
EVENT: Atlanta Magazine Best of Atlanta Party — Wednesday, March 4
Atlanta Magazine’s annual Best of Atlanta party boasts an uber-cool roster of chefs and makers that calls for a slightly more downtown vibe. Kicking it (literally) in boots from local designers and “Best of” honorees Res Ipsa as you sway to tunes from Yacht Rock Schooner just feels groovy, so sail away, y’all. And you can feel good about that; your ticket money goes to a great local cause, The Giving Kitchen. We’ll see y’all at The Cobb Galleria at 6 p.m.
EVENT: Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Reader Day at ADAC — Wednesday, March 18
Where better to rock a pretty print than at ADAC, where the designer eyes populating its walls would truly appreciate it? On Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Reader Day, from breakfast on, ADAC will be hosting a slew of notable local voices, including interior designer Barbara Westbrook and Chef Kevin Gillespie, who will both be on hand to speak and sign copies of their respective new tomes. Finish the look with a statement heel from Lenox Square’s new DVF boutique and the most important accessory of all, a Sharpie, for signing your new books, of course.
EVENT: Britt Bass Art Opening at Steve McKenzie’s — March 26 – April 26
For Britt Bass’s spring opening at Steve McKenzie’s, we headed to Ann Mashburn for a minimal, all-black look that lets accessories (like this necklace, from Atlanta-based line Gunner & Lux) — and the surroundings — speak for themselves. Britt’s been splashing color around all winter to debut her new collection, which kicks off Thursday evening, March 26, with nips of whiskey (to warm your bones) and punchy art (to warm your soul). Peruse her work and grab more details here.
