That time of year is officially here — fashion’s most confusing season. We’re ready for fall, but the temps are having an identity crisis. What does one wear when it is crisp and cool in the morning, hot and humid in the afternoon and breezy and comfortable in the evening? Well, we’ve got you covered. To prepare for September, fall, winter and beyond, we’ve rounded up 10 fashion-forward pieces ideal for this transitional season. The best part? Each item is less than $100! Here are the transitional styles your closet has been craving.

TOPS

When dressing for this time of year, light blouses with cropped sleeves and fun details are our go-to. It is beyond easy to style these tops! They’ll look casual yet polished when paired with some dark wash jeans, mules and simple earrings, or dress them up with some trousers, heels and statement jewels. Either way, you’ll stay comfortable through the unpredictable weather while looking sophisticated and stylish. Here are two of our favorite blouses featuring the season’s top trends — stripes and ruffles. This striped blouse ($88) features fashionable cropped sleeves and a fall-appropriate color scheme, while the ruffled blouse ($98) is the perfect example of how to properly wear white after Labor Day.

BOTTOMS

Bottoms are probably the most difficult piece to style during this transitional season. We’re going for light trousers in autumnal shades, skirts of all lengths and, of course, denim whenever we can. Here is the one skirt ($98) we’ve been opting for over and over this season. The stripes and button detailing are both on-trend and flattering, and this skirt looks fabulous with a plethora of tops. These trousers ($65), in our favorite shade of the season, are beyond flattering with a wide-leg cut, and, similar to the skirt, they can easily be styled with a number of tops. Pair these with strappy heels for an elegant and professional look great for both work and play.

DRESSES & JUMPSUITS

If you want to take on the transitional season in easy-to-wear style, dresses and jumpsuits are the answer. We’re loving this utility jumpsuit ($88) for its casual, yet put-together look, comfortable fabric and versatility. It can be paired with sneakers or slides for a casual look or wedges, strappy heels or even booties for a dressier occasion. This mauve-colored wrap dress ($98) is the kind of piece you’ll thank yourself for purchasing time and time again. The wrap style is both comfortable and flattering, and the long sleeves make it wearable during fall and winter.

A simple dress or jumpsuit is by far the easiest fashion-forward option for this confusing time of year. We love the simplicity of both of these styles as well as their versatility. SWEATERS & CARDIGANS

And lastly, the name of the game in transitional style is cardigans, vests and light sweaters. All four of these pieces are ultra easy-to-style, fantastic for layering and feature fall’s cozy colors. This long vest ($98), which is reversible, is the ideal layering piece as it’s light, yet warm, can be worn with virtually everything and adds a touch of cozy glam to any look. The black wrap sweater ($59) is sweet, feminine and comfortable. Wear this one out with the girls or even to work to stay cozy, yet comfortable throughout the season. The olive green short-sleeved kimono ($88) is another fabulous layering piece for this time of year as it’s super lightweight and the draping detail is flattering. Lastly, this simple rust-colored cardigan ($69) is probably our favorite transitional piece this year as it’s on-trend for the season, lightweight, uber soft and so, so easy-to-style. What more could you need?!
