Every Wednesday we do a little shopping curation for you as we all know how easy it is to fall down the rabbit hole of online shopping and not emerge for hours … with nothing to show for the time spent! Regain those hours and spend a few minutes with us each Wednesday as we navigate the trends, the wants and the needs. This week, we’re talking activewear.

We’ll be honest, after a long day of work, the last thing on our mind is getting a workout in, but with the year more than halfway over, we’re reevaluating our commitment to getting healthy and fit in 2018. What is one easy way to motivate us to get back to the gym? Stylish and flattering activewear. Thus, we’re sharing our current favorite activewear picks to encourage you to get back on that gym grind and finish the year off strong. From leggings and tops to sneakers and accessories, we’ve got you covered. So, go out, get strong and look stylish while you’re at it. Here are 20 activewear items that will actually make you want to work out!

LEGGINGS & SHORTS

Whether you’re headed out for a run, taking a yoga class or preparing for an intense leg day, the foundation of a good workout wardrobe is high-quality bottoms. Here we’re featuring two pairs of flattering leggings that will last through a number of uses. If shorts are more your style, these Nike¬†options are our go-to as they don’t ride up while running and are comfortable both in and out of the gym. Or, if a strengthening yoga class is your choice of exercise, these wide-leg lounge pants are a must. They’re cute, comfortable and, again, can be worn both in and out of the gym.

Here are our workout bottoms of choice. These Spanx cropped leggings are $68, the Nike running shorts are $25.90, these super cute blue leggings are $88 and these coral yoga pants are $88. Images: Nordstrom/Free People

TANKS & TOPS

It is easy to get in the habit of wearing ratty old t-shirts to the gym, but building your workout wardrobe with athletic tees, tanks and long-sleeve tops can help motivate you to get active. This grey tank is one of our favorite picks for any kind of workout as is this cute pink Nike tank. For a more relaxed workout or winter run, we’ll go for this cute fuschia long sleeve, which can also be worn as casual attire, and this athletic tee is a fantastic choice for those of us who want to keep our arms covered without wearing a billowing top. Best of all, none of these tops are over $60!

Here are our go-to tops for hitting the gym. This grey tank is $38, the long sleeve fuschia top (also available in a fun red shade) is $58, this Nike tank is $25.90 and this grey training tee is $39. Images: Nordstrom/Free People

JACKETS

A recent favorite activewear piece for us is the athletic jacket and sweatshirt. We love wearing these to and from the gym as well as at the beginning of our workout to get the blood flowing and the body warm. Additionally and similarly to many items on this list, these can be worn both in and out of the gym.

These are our current favorite athletic jackets and sweatshirts. This burgundy jacket is $58.90, the grey Nike sweatshirt (also available in black) is $51.90, this cute black jacket with cut out detailing is $58 and this white sweatshirt with mesh detailing is $65. Images: Nordstrom/Free People

SNEAKERS

No workout wardrobe is complete without a good pair of tennis shoes! Here we’ve rounded up four pairs of stylish sneakers that are durable enough to last through years of workouts, yet fashionable enough to wear out and about. If you’re in the market for a neutral option, these all-black sneakers or grey and black options are top-notch. Or if you’re looking to add some color to your activewear accessories, we love these pastel styles, and even better, shades like these are the top color trend of the season!

ACCESSORIES

Last but not least are the activewear accessories essential to a successful workout. Here are four of our favorites. This running armband is a must-have for anyone who spends time running on the treadmill or outside, as is this grey headband, which will actually stay put throughout your workout. If you spend a lot of time at the gym, we suggest investing in the Herschel gym bag. It’s high-quality, stylish and can be used for the gym or on a weekend getaway. And, of course, we had to feature this adorable rainbow water bottle, which simply makes us smile while sweatin’ it out.
