Summer fashion is all about breezy, light styles and no option fits that description better than dresses and jumpsuits. They’re comfortable, easy-to-wear and leave you looking polished and put-together with little effort. What’s better than that? This season, the oh-so-flattering wrap style is our top trend for both dresses and jumpsuits in addition to the increasingly popular tie-front style. Pastels are also making a splash this season as are feminine ruffled accents. Here, we’re featuring a few of our favorite current options to get you through the season in style. Get ready to look fabulous! Here are 20 of the trendiest dresses and jumpsuits of this summer.
WRAP DRESSES
Wrap dresses are by far our favorite go-to look. Not only are these comfortable and work-appropriate, they’re also ultra-flattering. This style brings all of the focus to every woman’s smallest area — her waist — while slimming broader shoulders and flaring slightly to lengthen legs regardless of the dress length. Here, we’ve featured four options, all of which are fabulous workwear looks, that can also be dressed up or down for whatever occasion you’re celebrating.

Wrap dresses are the ultimate flattering go-to dress. Here are four options for whatever your summer brings you. This bright pink dress is $158, the blue option (perfect for work!) is $98, this navy dress is $58, and this casual olive colored wrap dress is $148. Images: Nordstrom/Anthropologie
WRAP JUMPSUITS
The wrap style doesn’t stop at dresses, so why not switch it up a bit?! It is also seen in the season’s trendiest way to look fashion-forward and effortlessly stylish: jumpsuits. We love jumpsuits for an evening out, work, on a date night or even for strolling through the farmer’s market. They can be worn both elegantly and casually. Best part? They can be flattering for every body type. Here are four options that fit all of this summer’s trends — wrap style, wide legs, bold colors and a cropped cut.

TIE-FRONT DRESSES
Although similar to the wrap dress look, tie-front dresses take the trend up a notch by making it slightly more unique and interesting. You’ll notice that most tie-front dresses tie right at the waist to again accentuate your smallest area, but can also tie lower on the waist, as seen below, for a fun, flattering and fashionable look. Consider wearing one of these with a pair of fun slides, espadrilles or even wedges for the ideal effortlessly chic summer ensemble.

PASTEL DRESSES
Pastels are the color scheme of the season. Specifically, lilac and lavender, baby blue, millennial pink and pale yellow are at the top of the trend list. And we must say, we are loving these sweet shades! Luckily, there are plenty of options available in these flirty hues. Here are four dresses that can be dressed up or down for an afternoon out or even a summer wedding.

Pastels are the color palette of the season and we’ll be the first to say, it’s almost too cute to be true! Opt for one of these shades rather than your classic bright summer color this season. You’ll have fun switching it up! The pink cross-neck dress is $158, this yellow ruffled dress is $98, the lilac lace dress is $89, and this adorable blue dress with bows is $94.80. Images: Nordstrom
RUFFLE ACCENTS
Last, but definitely not least, we’re talking ruffles. With this trend, it’s important to stay subtle. A fun and flattering dress in a bold pattern looks extra sweet and feminine with a small accent ruffle, like a flutter sleeve or tiered skirt. These four looks are ideal for an upscale evening out, date night, wedding or that baby or bridal shower you’ve got coming up. You’ll notice some pattern trends in these options, including bold polka dots, a black and white gingham pattern and a colorful floral style.

Ruffles are another major dress trend this season, and we are loving it! But, it’s important to stay subtle and opt for a look with a sweet ruffled accent so as to not go over the top. This adorable floral ruffled dress is $100.80, the gingham dress (another major trend this season) is $218, this versatile red ruffled dress is $49, and the polka dot ruffled dress is $49.
