Booties, booties, booties. They continue to eclipse the more traditional boot as the “must have” in a woman’s wardrobe. Ideally, you should really have both (and the over-the-knee boots are really making us swoon this year!). But, booties change and evolve and, like all things, there are little tweaks made each season.
Among the many options, look for the bootie shaft height to be a wee bit taller this year, which the fashion gods have deemed to be the modern look. Almost a midcalf boot, but not quite … and a higher heel is found many times as well. Look for details like fringe, perforations, trims and bling. You’ll see more blends between traditional heels and booties, the “shoetie” as it’s sometimes called. And lace-ups are bigger than ever.
Grab what feels right, ones you can rock with confidence … believe us, there are many options to choose from!

For the new look in booties this season, five things to look for include:
- Lace up booties
- The shoetie continues to grow in options (shoe + bootie)
- Perforated booties
- A higher hitting bootie somewhere between the ankle and the midcalf
- Details: bling, fringe, animal hair, color, trims … the extras to make a bootie POP!
Here are a few options to consider as you think ahead to your bootie needs for fall.
