Recently, I was chatting with Jack Mathis at Work the Metal about trends he saw at market this winter. Amidst a sea of jewels, he said the common theme was mint, beige and coral. And by coral, he says it’s more of a light peach, not a red orange.
I always defer to the experts. I started investigating the trend and he is spot on.

Rachel Zoe Dress
Rachel Zoe’s mint draped dress is sure to flatter anyone. Those shoes are BANANAS, too.
Tory Burch Metallic Mint Dress
Tory Burch’s metallic mint dress reminds me of something my grandmother would wear, circa 1965 Palm Springs. And I love every inch of it. All you need is a tan and a Thunderbird convertible.
These mint jeans are by Madewell, but I noticed that most major jean designers are doing this color. Please refrain from the yellow sneakers. I shouldn’t have to tell you why.
Kate Spade Purse
Again, love this purse because it channels my grandmother’s style.
These mint flats hail from Banana Republic and would look great with jeans, skirts or shorts. I would refrain from wearing them with your mint jeans, lest you look like a stick of Doublemint gum.
This beige necklace is like tortoise or horn; it matches everything, as it is a neutral. So if you are wanting a statement necklace, without making a statement with the color, here’s your gal.
Rebecca Taylor Dress
If I had $995 and the pigment to pull this dress off, I would even wear it to Kroger, it’s so gorgeous.
Tory Burch Beige Flat
Now this is a place where I can wear beige: my feet. This is the classic patent Reva flat in Cley Beige.
These are J. Brand, but other designers are carrying this color. Consider it like a white jean, a neutral that matches everything.
J. Crew Cashmere Tippi Sweater
This sweater would be perfect spring, fall and winter, especially with your new beige jeans and a cool mint cuff.
This gorgeous silk top is by Steffan Schraut. Dressed up with slacks or a pencil skirt or dressed down with jeans, it would be a great investment.
Every jewelry designer in town is doing coral jewelry quite frankly, because everyone looks good in this color. Necklaces, earrings, cuffs, you name it; you can find it in coral.
Like the mint flats, this coral pair would be great with jeans or a dress. They add a pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit.
Another simple but beautiful silk top, this one is by Vince.
Lauren Merkin Clutch
Lauren Merkin has so many lovely purses, but this coral straw purse would be perfect this spring. Perfect color and perfect size.
This price tag is a whopper for this jacket ($1095!), which puts it in the “reach” category for me. Again, if I had the money, I could find lots of awesome places to wear this, like to the carwash and Target.
Sonia Rykiel Chevron Sweater
Chevrons, all the colors and a spring sweater. There is a lot of bang for your buck here.
Feeling like sherbet yet?
