For May’s What to Wear feature, we’ve gone in a new direction. Instead of showcasing mannequins wearing current looks for events in town, we’ve partnered with Landyn Hutchinson, of Living with Landyn, to be our model! Why dresses? May always brings a bevy of events for which dresses just make the most sense: graduations, weddings, Derby parties and the kick-off of backyard barbecue season!
Living with Landyn: Landyn Hutchinson + Dresses for May
We shot on location at Hester & Cook’s showroom with the specialized help of wardrobe consultant Rebecca Thompson. All images are by the amazing photographer Tina Gionis.
SB note: If you are wondering how these dresses would look on you, Landyn is 5 feet 8 inches tall.
Green provides a great pop of color that is flattering on many. This easy-to-wear dress with an intricate neckline means you don’t even need to worry about a necklace! Find this dress from Nicole Miller for $265.
The hemline and flouncy nature of this dress make it look great while standing still or walking. It’s a macrame knit and comes with the belt. Find this Sanctuary dress for $129.
Suede is in for spring and summer and this dress fits the trend nicely. Add a cardigan or jacket and belt it if you don’t like your arms! This dress is by Bailey 44 and is $299.
We had to get this fabulous chandelier at Hester & Cook incorporated into this shot. Note that those are spoons hanging down! Landyn is in a tunic dress; similar style here for $75. This is a great dress to have for beach vacations to pack and wear as your fancy cover-up, a short dress or over white jeans! The hat, $299, is by Carol Carr and is one of a kind, available through Stacey Rhodes Boutique.
Landyn’s blog is all about approachable style: from recipes, to fashion, to home decor and doing it all while keeping your sanity as a mom. But it’s not a mommy blog … meaning if you like her style, you’ll love her Instagram feed and her blog, so be sure to sign up for her emails!
