Of all the Spring 2019 trends, pastels have got to be one of our favorites. We’ve seen a rise in the popularity of soft shades like powder blue, millennial pink, lilac and lavender for a few seasons now, and as spring officially blossoms, these hues seem to be popping up everywhere. Luckily, they’re the perfect option for upcoming outdoor outings, like spring weddings, Easter celebrations, Memorial Day soirées and any of your summer get togethers.

To help you easily (and stylishly) incorporate the trend into your wardrobe, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite current options that will show you how to wear pastels in fashionable form. Here you’ll find fun beauty products, seasonally appropriate fashions and easy-to-wear accessories for all your spring styling needs. Here is our guide to wearing pastels!

BEAUTY

Although we love neutral colors like warm browns, soft oranges and nude lipsticks when applying our makeup, spring allows for a bit of colorful exploration, and pastels are the easiest way to do it. These three products make adding a splash of soft color to your beauty routine effortless.

  • Sephora Colorful Shadow & Liner in Lilac: ($14) This affordable shadow and liner stick is foolproof. The jumbo eye pencil glides on easily and can be applied in a number of ways. Pop this on your entire eyelid and blend with fingers for an unexpectedly flattering spring shade, especially for those with blue or green eyes. Or, glide this across your waterline for a bold and colorful liner. We suggest a neutral or no-shadow look if using this as a liner. It’s high-pigmented, creamy and resistant to water, heat and humidity, so you won’t have to worry about smearing or fading color.
  • OPI Classic Nail Lacquer in Gelato On My Mind: ($7.88) As we’re sure you know, OPI is one of the best nail polish brands in the business. Their shade Gelato On My Mind adds a cute and feminine pop of pastel color to any look without going over the top. This color looks particularly adorable when paired with an all-white ensemble.
  • Natasha Denona Tropic Eyeshadow Palette: ($129) We know the price on this palette is absurd, but the quality of Natasha Denona shadows is worth every penny. Her palettes are a top pick in the beauty world for many reasons. They’re intensely creamy, pigmented, easy to apply and long-lasting. This palette features a few cute pastel shades in addition to shimmery options and everyday neutrals. You’ll get so much use out of this one, and because of its varying selection of shades, it will last you an entire year.

FASHION

Now that you’ve added a few pastel products to your beauty bag, let’s talk fashion. Colorful pieces become more and more popular as warm weather arrives, but we’re often intimidated by bold and vibrant pieces. Enter: Pastels.

This sweet and feminine skirt ($148) pulls together a few of this season’s top trends — mini skirts, lilac shades, a retro flair and tortoiseshell detailing — and we’re loving every aspect of it! This lace dress ($89) in a lavender shade is the perfect piece for an outdoor wedding or spring date night. Similar to the skirt, this pink halter ($70) features an on-trend belted detail, and the soft hue pairs fantastically with any shade of denim, especially white! Finally, top off any spring or summer ensemble with this pastel kimono ($98), which is beachy, breezy and beautiful. Just like that, you’re rocking that coveted “cool girl” style.

ACCESSORIES

If you’d rather dip your toes into the pastel trend pool, a simple accessory is the way to do it. We’re swooning over these blush-colored espadrille wedges ($79.95) and soft blue flats ($78), which feature on-trend cutouts, for some spring footwear. This pastel, floral scarf ($18) is the ultimate accessory — tie it around your neck, in your ponytail or on the handle of your handbag for an understated and ultra-chic pop of pastel. Or, go for this lavender tote ($88) as a seasonally inspired addition to your ensemble. Lastly, finish off any neutral look with a pair of these pastel pink hoops ($54), also available in a powder blue shade, as the easiest way to bring the spring trend into your jewelry collection.
