In preparation for my favorite holiday, I stumbled across some of the most adorable Halloween treats that I plan to stir-up with my step-daughter over the weekend and in the days leading up to the big night and wanted to share.
My prerequisite: they must be easy enough for a 9 year old to help with and in most cases involve chocolate. But that’s just me.
Spooky Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies, recipe courtesy of All Recipes (it’s the 2010 Betty Crocker Award winning recipe!).
What you will need:
- 1 (1 pound 1.5 ounce) pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon mint extract
- 6 drops green food color
- 1 egg
- 1 cup creme de menthe baking chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks

What you will need:
- 1 box (18.25 oz.) Devil’s Food cake mix
- 1 can (16 oz.) dark chocolate frosting
- 1 can (10.5 oz.) chocolate sprinkles
- 24 large marshmallows
- ¼ cup M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies
- 48 red or black licorice laces
- 1 toothpick

What you will need:
- Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 Bag of Marshmallows
- Butter
- Red & yellow food coloring (or natural food coloring)
- 18-20 tootsie rolls unwrapped
- Frosting for leaves is powdered sugar, green food coloring, and a little milk (or water) or just the store bought green frosting in easy to squeeze tubes.
