This is the post where I start getting a little homesick for Texas. I love cowhide. I MISS cowhide. Guess what trend has travelled up to Louisville lately… COWHIDE!! I’m so validated.
Let’s start small. You can put a plain cowhide on your floor like an area rug. (If House Beautiful is doing it, it can’t be that crazy.)
At Dress and Dwell, in New Albany, there are cowhides accenting the floors everywhere. Take a look at the chairs, we’ll revisit those in a moment.
Here’s a bunch at Scout to pick from and pet.
Scout has these hides, but also has stunning area rugs made of cowhide as well. They don’t look like cows; I consider these the mink coats of rugs.
This picture is the entire reason for the story. I saw this rug at Scout during the holidays and had to find out more. It is white with lapis blue. Simply stunning.
Let’s return to the chairs at Dress and Dwell, shall we.
And this lovely from Serena & Lily. Love all the nailhead accents on these chairs too.
I’m going to have to pull the trigger on this pillow. Feeling really homesick right now.
Off to have a Mexican food and Texas barbeque picnic on my cowhide rug. Enjoy!
