With top-notch restaurants serving all sorts of half-price specialty cocktails and gourmet eats for under $10, Charlotte’s Happy Hour game is certainly on point. Plus, we have a trump card on other cities: since it’s outlawed in North Carolina to discount alcoholic beverages for just a few hours, we get to enjoy full 24-hour specials of sipping happy! Whether you call these daily deals — Happy Hour, App-y Hour (grub-fueled early evening specials, naturally), or specials — is up to you. The outcome will be equally delicious at the following stops.

Georges Brasserie

4620 Piedmont Row Drive, #110, Charlotte, NC 28210 • (980) 219-7409

Monday through Friday: $3 to $13 select menu items from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: $3 to $13 select menu items from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Georges Brasserie’s impressive Happy Hour menu doesn’t only discount the small stuff. Take a regular tour de Paris with the Foie Gras “Crepe Suzette” complete with a blood orange Grand Marnier syrup, fennel and radish slaw for just $13 — a full $6 cheaper than the same meal after 7 p.m.! Other highlights include the Filet Burger sporting smoked gouda, pickled tomatillo and foie aioli for $11 and extra-cheesy Mac and Cheese for just $5. To take advantage of the special, dine in the bar and lounge area.

Spanish cuisine melded with Asian flavors may not be the first cultural pairing when considering fusion cuisine, but Zen Fusion proves it’s a match made in Heaven. From a creative noodle dish sporting massaman curry sauce over fettuccine to the show-stopping Red Dragon sushi roll, Zen Fusion’s menu has something for every palate. Even better, there is a drink or dining special offered every single day!

Crave Dessert Bar

500 W. Fifth St., #120, Charlotte, NC 28202 • (704) 335-0588

Tuesday through Friday: $5 select food and dessert menu items 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Crave Dessert Bar, the upscale, cosmopolitan spot over on West 5th Street, doesn’t see why savory dishes and drinks should have all the Happy Hour fun. Aside from fantastic $5 appetizers Tuesday through Friday, Crave also offers up two tasty sweets at $5 each: the Candied Bacon Ice Cream Cookie and S’mores platter. Both are absolute beauties and even better when paired with something strong from Crave’s lengthy drink list.

Napa on Providence

110 Perrin Place, Charlotte, NC 28207 • (704) 900-8535

Sunday through Friday: $5 cocktails and $6 wines all day and $7 select menu items from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Drawing inspiration from the culinary practices in Napa Valley, Calif., Napa on Providence has a long list of locally sourced and match-from-scratch dishes that are well deserving of their 2016 OpenTable Diner’s Choice Award. Napa on Providence’s 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Happy Hour menu generously allows us to taste and sip highlight offerings at a discounted rate—$5 cocktails, $6 wines and $7 heavy appetizers to be exact. We recommend going for the Pick Two Charcuterie Board and a pour of apple cranberry sangria.
