June 1-3, 2017: Charlotte Ballet’s Inspired Works

The Charlotte Ballet presents Inspired Works, a performance to honor Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. After 20 years of work and leadership, Bonnefoux retires this June and what better way to salute him. We’ll have 3 days to make it to this awe-inspiring display of athleticism and art. June 2, 2017: Mint to Move Cultural Dance Night

Dig out your dancing shoes for a night of moving and grooving at the Mint Museum Uptown. Join a DJ and live musical acts to enjoy Afro-Cuban and Latin-American tunes that embrace a variety of cultures. Make sure to get there in time for free dance lessons at 9 p.m. to learn anywhere from salsa to cha cha to line dancing to merengue moves. Admission is $8.50 for members and $12 for non-members. June 3, 2017: Keep Pounding 5K Stadium Run

Start stretching and join the Carolina Panthers in a 5K fundraising run to benefit the Levine Cancer Institute and Levine Children’s Hospital. The race begins at Levine Cancer Institute and participants finish out strong at the Carolina Panthers Practice Field. Register today to “Keep Pounding” in the fight against cancer. June 3 & 4, 2017: Repticon Charlotte Reptile & Exotic Animal Show

If you sense an intrepid spirit creeping up on you, mark your calendars for Repticon Reptile and Exotic Animal Convention at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. This leader in exotic animal showcases is making a stop in Charlotte to put on seminars and present hands-on learning opportunities. June 4, 2017: Farm to Fork Picnic

Step away from the grocery store aisles and join regional farmers and chefs for a picnic of delicious dishes, local brews, and live music at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro. This year, the Farm to Fork Picnic celebrates its 10th anniversary with 35 chefs, each paired with a local farm, to prepare seasonal and fresh meals for attendees. June 4, 2017: Charlotte Symphony Summer Pops: Hooray For Hollywood

If memorable movie musical musings are always in your head and heart, pencil into your calendar this night at Symphony Park. Charlotte Symphony kicks off its weekly summer series, Summer Pops, with Hooray for Hollywood, a concert in the park featuring music from favorite blockbuster hits. Enjoy songs from films such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter and more. For more information, click here.

June 9 & 10, 2017: Groverfest Music Festival

Get ready for a weekend of banjo picking and soulful southern croons at the Groverfest Music Festival at Fiddlers Grove in Union Grove. June 9-11, 2017: Taste of Charlotte

Foodies, rejoice! For three days, six blocks of Tryon Street are transformed into a hub of food and beverage delights. If over 100 food tenants, live music, cooking demos, an eclectic marketplace, and countless other family-friendly activities are right up your alley, be sure to block out some time to attend this event. June 12, 2017: Neil deGrasse Tyson “The Cosmic Perspective” Lecture

For one evening, open your mind to the cosmos beyond and learn about the cosmic perspective with renowned astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson. For the most avid universe enthusiasts, secure tickets to the VIP meet-and-greet portion to not only attend the show, but take a photo with Mr. Tyson himself and receive a copy of one of his books. June 13, 2017 : Wheels of Soul Summer Tour Tap Party & You Drink, We Donate

Enjoy local brews? Have a charitable spirit? Combine your passions with NoDa Brewing Company’s pairing with Craft for Causes to host Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Wheels Of Soul Summer Tour 2017 stop in Charlotte. June 16, 2017: Bechtler by Night — Painting with Bob Ross

This month, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art draws inspiration from Bob Ross for its monthly Bechtler by Night event. Gallery games, BINGO, a scavenger hunt, spiked lemonade, small plates and of course art viewing can all be expected this third Thursday of the month. June 16-18, 2017: Heroes Convention

They say “not all heroes wear capes,” but a lot of them sure do here. The Charlotte Convention Center welcomes the 35th HeroesCon for a weekend where fans, creators and exhibitors can join together to share a mutual love of all things comics. June 17, 2017: Brew Stash Bash

Signature brews from both regional and national craft breweries come together for one fun-filled day at Belmont Abbey Island. The U.S. National Whitewater Center brings back its Brew Stash Bash for an event full of craft beer sampling, live music, yoga, and the 6K Brew Dash Race. June 22 through July 2, 2017: Annie the Musical

Escape the summer heat and envelop yourself in the musings of Annie the Musical. Take a vacation with the Davidson Community Players to 1930’s New York to enjoy the plucky antics of little orphan Annie.
