February is the shortest, most love-filled month of the year! Make the most out of every day (and guess what, you get an extra one in 2016) with some awesome FINDS we discovered at the best Atlanta stores. And don’t worry — not all of these have to do with a certain holiday connected to a naked, chubby, winged baby with a bow and arrow.

For the Kiddos

Backpack clips

Remember when our generation couldn’t get enough of those Mr. Sketch Markers, sniffing our colorful drawings, and we collected Scratch ‘N Sniff stickers like they were rare commodities? Guess kids never get tired of smelly toys because Salon Red Kids has Whiffer Sniffer backpack clips for $10. These stuffed toys look, and smell, like aromatic objects including apple, tangerine, pizza, frosted cookie and much more. Now your kid can scarf down pizza and have his backpack smell the same way!

Besides sharing with children, Salon Red Kids Whiffer Sniffer backpack clips, $10, also make great gifts for those loved ones on a diet.

Stuffed toys

Support independent artists and local lines by shopping at Edgewood’s The Beehive. The store has jewelry, toys, clothing, body products and so much more, all made by hardworking artisans, most of whom live in Atlanta. Though the pictured line is from outside Georgia, we fell for these adorable stuffed toys, $26, from Mr. Sogs, which just made us smile.

The Clue Town Books offer ready-to-solve scavenger hunts in walkable areas of Atlanta, including Piedmont Park (90 minutes), BeltLine Eastside Trail (90 minutes) and more in-town spaces. Pick up one of these clue books, $15, at Little Shop of Stories and let the adventures begin!

Books

As we keep hearing about the rising costs of college, the best thing to do is secure a scholarship. Start them young, like really young, with these adorable Baby Lit books, $9.99 each, at Emerald August. The diapered set will learn about iambic pentameter, man vs. nature themes and how to properly define “irony” — or just love the cute pictures and colorful shapes.

Chocolate gift box

Obviously we can’t get through a February FINDS article and not include some homage to the good old standby gift of chocolate. However, we’ve given this Valentine’s Day staple a twist with diAmano Chocolate’s boxed “girly” set, $15. Recipients can enjoy a chocolate credit card, mini white chocolate heels, a dark chocolate handbag and more.

XOXO bento box

Some people just like a little of everything and the Sugarfina Valentine’s Day bento box is a great way to sneak in tastes of eight different types of candy. You can take your pick from Sugarfina’s huge candy assortment, but we’d recommend keeping the V-day vibe going and selecting themed candies, like sugar lips, cherry sweethearts, Champagne bears and more. On average, the eight pieces of candy are about $65, but the price varies based on your selections.

Cheese board

Wild Oats & Billy Goats has no shortage of gorgeous, handcrafted wares from local artists. It was hard to narrow down to one item, but we thought this hand-poured concrete cheese board with attached wooden knife, $60, was so cool and a great modern addition to your serving pieces. The ATL board, created by Clarkston artist Mona Patel, is sealed with tung oil and beeswax to create a slick look and prevent scratching.

Art print

Celebrate all things Atlanta with this adorable ABC print, $22, from steve mckenzie’s. This is an alphabetical way to show your love for the city or perhaps introduce your little one to what makes Atlanta … well, Atlanta. Some letters might be obvious (of course, C is for Coca-Cola) and others may make you chuckle (the Z for “zonked after running Peachtree Road Race” picture is spot on).

The really cool thing about this plaid blanket is the way it comes rolled with a leather carrier.
