Today we feature the wedding of Brooks Blair and Katey Seibels, who were married October 1, 2011. The wedding took place at Shades Valley Presbyterian Church with a reception following at the Mountain Brook Club. There is so much to love about this wedding, but I, for one, am loving the detail of the bride’s veil, the simple elegance of the flowers and all the nods to the couple’s love of football and the groom’s alma mater, Ole Miss!

My dress was purchased at The White Room in Birmingham, which was new. My borrowed was covered on several fronts. My grandmother graciously let me wear her double strand pearl bracelet, and my sister let me wear her fabulous Jimmy Choo sparkly gold heels, which she had worn in her wedding 4 months before. The veil was also borrowed from my best friend, who I have known since I was 2 years old. Her husband’s great grandmother made it for her when she got married. Our husbands have also been best friends since childhood, so that made the veil even more special.

The bridesmaids dresses were purchased from Bella Bridesmaid in Homewood, AL. Buffy Hargett was our florist and Meghan Cease of M Elizabeth Events was our day-of-the-wedding coordinator. We had a fabulous gospel choir who sang during the ceremony, as Brooks and I took our first communion together. They also sang upbeat gospel songs as we processed out and as the guests left the church. Our reception music was wonderful, too. 14 Karat Gold was our band, and I still don’t think I have heard such a wonderful band since our wedding (I’m biased!).

14 Karat played at the reception.

We handed out blue and red foam fingers, with “Mrs. Blair” and “Mr. Blair” printed on them, which we thought was very fitting since our wedding took place during football season, and my husband is a huge Ole Miss Rebels fan. I also had an ice sculpture of Colonel Reb (the ex-Ole Miss mascot) in honor of my husband. Sunglasses were handed out during the reception–they always somehow seem to put everyone in dance-party mode, even people you would never guess would get out on the dance floor.

The future’s so bright you gotta wear shades!

I supposed most brides feel this way, but our wedding was the best night of my life – it could not have turned out any more perfectly. It was everything I dreamed of!

Happily ever after!

Thank you, Katey, for sharing your special day with us and thank you, Beth, for capturing all of those wonderful moments!
