We’ve got a little pop quiz for you!

A trip to High Point, the mother of all furniture markets, will make you:

  1. Swoon
  2. Want to redecorate your entire home
  3. Feel inspired for future decorating
  4. Feel a teensy bit overwhelmed
  5. All of the above

Yep, ‘E’ is the correct answer. Fortunately, we at StyleBlueprint took that trip of all trips, so you don’t have to. And we even brought you a little something back, too: Our four favorite home furnishing trends!

In a nutshell, color is making a comeback, curvy lines are this year’s LBD, acrylic accents are all the rage, and Mother Nature gets her due. Perhaps our biggest takeaway from High Point is how easily you can incorporate one or more trends into your current décor without investing a fortune. After you see these four trends, check out how they all come together, beautifully!

4 Design Trends We Love from High Point Market

Trend: Color Makes a Comeback

Neutral tones are still having their day but throughout the showrooms of High Point, color is definitely in full bloom.

Neutral fabrics and furniture create a perfect canvas for bold colors – in this case, the ultra-stylish orange-y coral and navy blue combination in this bedroom vignette.

We love how this chair features a solid blue back, and patterned fabric front – and complements the leather sofa in the background. But this combo would work well with a neutral-colored couch, too.

The pop of blue this leather sofa offers makes it a statement piece (and double trend alert: notice the curved arm!), and allows a playful use of pattern, too. A simple coffee table pulls this colorful combination together.

Hues of rose made us jump for joy at High Point; we simply love the feminine touch that doesn’t overpower a setting. This pebbled pink-and-gray fabric was lush and cozy, and with the nail head detail, gave this round ottoman a gender-neutral vibe.

In this bedroom vignette, however, we fell hard for this dark rose velvet chair (double trend alert: note the curve of the back!), a pop of pretty color against the beautifully simple walls, which featured black and white floral prints that looked like they were torn out of a book. This just might be the cheat sheet for our next boudoir.

Pink leather, silver frame, pink dragon pillow? Yes, please! We adored this combination of traditional Chinoiserie fabric with the modern look of pretty pink leather.

Trend: Curves Ahead

These curves aren’t dangerous! Rather, the fun – and dare we say sexy? – curvy lines add a bit of play to even the most traditional of décor.

Trend: Natural Elements

Designers have channeled their inner Mother Nature, employing natural elements and motifs in furniture and fabrics. The result is as beautiful as nature itself!

Trend: Acrylic Accents

Surely one of our favorite trends at market was the clever use of acrylic as an accent for furnishings. From full-on lamps to table bases, acrylic is clearly making its mark.
