Join artist Kelly S. Williams in a workshop that explores the use of textiles, plant life, and everyday objects through a combination of printmaking and painting techniques to create visually dynamic and often bewildering compositions. Participants can utilize provided objects as stencils, subject matter, or idea generators for paintings. Using spray paint, acrylic, and oil paint, Williams demonstrates her multi-step layering processes to generate imagery. As a two-day workshop, participants take advantage of drying time to learn even more techniques in the layering process. Building upon design principles of positive and negative space, repetition, and rhythm, participants utilize daily and often unremarkable objects to examine our shared experiences. watkinsce.asapconnected.com
