Create a collection of decorative papers using the meditative method of suminagashi marbling. Dating back some 800 years, this Japanese technique floats ink pigments atop a liquid bath. With gentle manipulations — such as blowing across the water’s surface — and a good deal of spontaneity, patterns form and are transferred to paper. These papers are then be used to create a collection of handmade books stitched with variations of the Japanese stab binding.
