February may be the shortest month of the year, but there’s still plenty to do around town! For our monthly “What to Wear” series we’ve put together a collection of outfits from local boutiques that range from girly pastels and lacy dresses to retro bell bottoms and graphic tees that look great and will leave you feeling confident. Here are three of our favorite events happening this month and what to wear to each one.

The Event: Queen City Brewers Festival

  • February 4, 2017
  • Tickets start at $45
  • Learn more and purchase tickets at

It’s no secret we love our craft beer here in Charlotte, and with so many incredible local breweries, it can be hard to get to them all — until now. The Queen City Brewers Festival brings more than 30 breweries all to one place at the AvidXchange Music Factory. Guests can enjoy an entire day of tasting all for a good cause. Proceeds from the festival go toward ACEing Autism, a nonprofit dedicated to teaching children with Autism how to play tennis.

What to wear: Staying comfortable is the key to enjoying a day full of craft beer tastings. You also don’t want to be too dressy. We suggest wearing jeans and a t-shirt or a flowy blouse — and because we never know what Mother Nature is going to do this time year, have a jacket on hand to bundle up in case there’s a cold spell.

The Event: Valentine’s Day

  • February 14, 2017

It’s the annual day to celebrate love! Whether you’re spending the evening with your significant other, or you’re celebrating with your gal pals, it’s still a great excuse to kick things up a notch with some elevated looks.

What to wear: Traditional red is always our go-to for Valentine’s Day. It’s fun and flirty and most people can pull it off. Add a little lace in there, and you’re all set. Not into red? Not a problem! You can’t go wrong with pretty pastels mixed with neutrals. We also love a little black dress option, but since it’s a special night, glam it up a bit with an eye-catching accessory or two.
