Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on everything in your life for which you are grateful, which on that Thursday in November often includes (in no particular order) delicious food, football, Black Friday sales and, of course, friends and family. It’s hard to give thanks for all the work required, though, for that annual feast. Holiday dinners are a big job, after all, and sometimes it’s better to forgo the work and instead spend time with your family throwing a football, watching the big game and sipping on cider instead of slaving over a hot stove all day. For those of you who want to outsource your Thanksgiving this year, be it just the desserts or sides or even the whole meal, we have Charlotte’s finest options for Thanksgiving takeout and turkey day dining-out options. So whether you plan to pick it up and bring it home or go out for the whole meal, we’ve got you covered.

The Asbury, best known for it’s brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, is a Charlotte favorite in the heart of Uptown. With dishes that are locally sourced by small family farms, The Asbury offers dishes that they describe as “uniquely Carolinian.” From the atmosphere to the menu, The Asbury is an all encompassing establishment of Southern hospitality. For Thanksgiving this year, they are offering both dining-in and pick-up options. The Asbury’s Thanksgiving menu includes Southern favorites with a three course meal, including family-size sides. Some food to look forward to includes first course starters such as pork and beans and roasted parsnip salad, second course entrees like like herb-stuffed turkey with a bourbon panned gravy, and family style sides such as pimento cheese corn bread pudding, whipped potatoes, braised collard greens and cranberry chutney. The third course is a family-style dessert sampler with sweet treats like salted bourbon caramel pecan bars covered with dark chocolate, plus much more! And if you’d rather eat your supper at home, you can have the same menu option for pick up. To dine in there will be two seatings: the first from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. and the second, 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. To make a reservation call (704) 342-1193.
