There’s just something about spring that always makes us want to give our homes a little refresh —whether it be with a new piece of furniture or something as simple as purchasing new tabletop accessories — we always like to spruce things up. Here are 16 FINDS — all found locally— that will get your home ready for spring in no time.
There’s nothing better than having fresh flowers displayed around the house, and now that there are plenty of flowers blooming this time of year it’s nice to have beautiful bud vases on hand to show them off. Summer Classics carries this darling set of three bud vases for $35. Put them all together in a cluster or space them out to give different rooms a little sunshine.
We’ve been taking notes while watching too much HGTV and have fallen in love with using dried lavender as decoration. Not only does it smell amazing, but the deep purple color is splendid. Plus, since it’s already dried, it’s a plant we can’t kill! You can place a few stems in a bud vase or mason jar, or simply tie a bundle with twine and display. Sleepy Poet Antique Mall carries lavender bundles for $14.95.
One of our favorite things about spring is being able to decorate in all sorts of bright colors, and this gorgeous sunshine yellow chair from High Cotton Home Company is No. 1 on our wish list this season. Not only is it absolutely stunning with an eye-catching pattern, but the wide, rounded back makes it extremely comfortable (yes, we had to test it out). We think it would be a great accent piece for a living room or bedroom. Purchase for $869.
This Gold District yellow vintage furniture paint really stands out — and we mean that in the best way possible. Not only is it a beautiful color, but it’s easy to use and requires no sanding or waxing before use. The color was created by the owner of Magnolia Emporium, Randolph James, and part of the proceeds from sales go toward revitalizing the Gold District of Charlotte. You can get a pint for $19.
While you’re spring cleaning, go ahead and switch out your candles for something with a light, fresh scent. We really like Charlotte Candle’s lemon verbena soy candle that we found at Pura Vida Worldly Art for $20. Not only do these candles smell phenomenal, but they’ve been hand-poured into recycled wine bottles. We can feel good about helping save the planet one bottle at a time!
Another way to freshen up a room without an open flame is with an Antica Farmacista reed diffuser from Isabella. The refreshing “Lush Palm” scent makes you feel like you’re on a luxurious tropical vacation every time you walk into the room. Grab one (or a few) for $26.
Give your clothing drawers and closets their own little refresh by placing one of these adorable little lavender sachets inside. With the Queen Bee design, they’re a lot prettier than your typical sachet and provide a light scent that will keep your home smelling fresh. They are $7.99 each at Blackhawk Hardware. We suggest buying several and putting them around the house in areas that can get a bit stuffy.
Add a beachy vibe to any room with this unique pair of resin Octopus bookends from Summer Classics —we’ve seriously never seen anything remotely like them! The silver color coordinates with most decor, and the intricate details really make them standout. Keep them in mind as a potential gift idea for your favorite beach lover. Get the set for $79.
This cloche from Details Home Boutique is one of our favorite pieces to decorate with. It’s extremely versatile depending on your decorating style, and it can go in any room and display almost anything. For spring and summer you can place two green moss balls under the glass, and update accordingly with each season. Pick one up for $119.
Hydrangeas are always a sure sign of the season, and this pink floral painting by artist Mimi Kline screams spring. You can also choose from other hydrangea colors or different flowers, like magnolias. We like the idea of getting four coordinating paintings and creating a gallery wall in a hallway or living room. Purchase at High Cotton Home Company for $349.
We’re really loving yellow this month, and we are always big fans of a little humor — so we were immediately drawn to this print’s cheerful, bright color and fun play on words! It’s the perfect added touch for a kitchen and comes already framed. Find it at Ruby’s Gift for $40.
We can’t forget to give our outdoor spaces a little spring makeover — and this yellow flower pot will brighten up any patio or deck. Just add your favorite potted plant, and voila! You’ve got your own little mini garden. Buy a few pots and plants to fill up any empty outdoor space and give it some character. Dilworth’s Little Secret carries them for $38 each.
These galvanized steel lanterns will create the perfect ambiance for an outdoor party! Set them on the porch or use them as a centerpiece on the table during a cookout with friends. We suggest adding flameless candles so you won’t have to worry about forgetting to blow them out. Get the set of two for $95 at Sleepy Poet Antique Mall.
We adore these lemon placemats by Hester and Cook that we found at Theory Design Studio. They’re a simple way to upgrade your table setting for a dinner party without a lot of hassle! Plus, there’s no pattern that announces spring more than bright yellow lemons and green leaves.
News flash! Cocktail napkins don’t have to be plain and boring. Yes, they should be useful, but not boring, and these August Morgan cocktail napkins are far from it! Along with the high quality linen and hemstitching, you can choose from several snarky sayings like “make mine a double” or “seeing double.” We found them at Paper Twist for $36 for a set of four.
We got a kick out of this lobster wine holder as soon as we saw it at Nadeau Charlotte. It’s cute, it’s useful (we’ve got plenty of wine for it to hold), and it’s a fun conversation starter. And it’s an especially fitting gift for someone with a beach house or for someone who just loves the beach. Grab one for $47.
