For this month’s FINDS we really had spring and warmer days on our minds. From lightweight sweaters, to serving platters perfect for outdoor entertaining and coolers that are ready for a quick beach trip, you’ll be able to pick up on our not-so-subtle hints that we’re officially ready for sunny days in the South. Happy shopping!
Upgrade your nightly bath into a relaxing spa-like experience with an essential oil bath bomb from L&M Monogramming. The fizzy bombs come in several different colors and scents, and each is packed with all kinds of goodies to soften your skin, like shea butter and grapeseed oil. Plus, it’s really, really fun to watch them bubble and fizz — hello, kids at heart! Stop in and get one for $6.99.
Do your face a favor and wipe away the day with all-natural Beekman 1802 facial cleansing wipes. They’re great for wiping away stubborn makeup, a quick post-workout refresh or to bring while traveling. We also like to keep them in our car console in case of any mishaps! Nue Brows to Brazilians carries them for $7 per pack of 30.
Burnished gold mirror
We immediately fell in love with this gorgeous round mirror as soon as we walked into Traditions of Charlotte. The burnished gold is incredibly eye-catching and is the perfect addition to any room. We’d place it above a couch or even the mantel. Purchase it for $759.
We really enjoy hosting friends and family — especially when it involves wine and cheese or light bites, and we’ve noticed it’s been hard to find a serving tray that’s large enough to serve a large spread and not be too heavy. Small Keys has the answer to our dilemma with this Queen City serving tray. Not only is it lightweight, but it’s the perfect size for a substantial cheese spread — plus, if you’re entertaining outdoors and accidentally drop it, it won’t break! It would also be a nice option for a hostess gift. Pick one up for $32.
We have a habit of having to smell every candle that’s in sight, and sometimes it really pays off — because we discovered Whick candles, which are hand-poured right here in Charlotte! There are several amazing scents to choose from, but our favorite is the cotton bud! Find one for $29.95 at LUNA Boutique.
Charlotte Then and Now
Celebrate the history of Charlotte and how far it has come in Charlotte Then and Now. Learn how the Queen City got its start after gold was discovered nearby, then continued to grow as it became the center of the North Carolina textile industry. Along with the city’s history, the book also includes vintage pictures throughout the years that date back to the Civil War. Get a copy for $19.95 at Swoozie’s of Charlotte.
Add a lucky horseshoe to your home with this darling decorative pillow from Strick’s Shop. The rustic orange is an amazing accent color that will add just the right amount of flair to a room. We especially love the idea of decorating with a pair of them during Derby season! Each pillow is made of wool and is 14-by-14-inch. Purchase one for $57.
Add a little humor to your home with this hilarious Southern framed sign from Blacklion Furniture for $21.99. It seriously makes us giggle every time we think about it. We like the shabby-chic frame and chalkboard look. Like the sign says — you can hang it on the porch along with whatever crazy you want to parade around for all to see.
It’s no secret we enjoy shopping for accessories, and a good cuff is always something we’re hunting for. These three-stone gold cuffs are not only beautiful, but also timeless. Good luck choosing which you like best! We’re always partial to turquoise, but the black onyx is just as stunning. Snag one for $188 at Denim House.
March weather is always a bit inconsistent, so it’s always good to layer up. This lightweight White + Warren crewneck sweater from Monkee’s of Charlotte is the perfect way to stay warm, while the bright, spring-like colors keep it in-season. Take your pick from white or navy (or both) for $242.
Add some sparkle to any outfit with this beautiful jeweled necklace from Fab’rik Charlotte. The best part about it (other than that amazing $42 price tag!) is that behind the jewels is a layer of fabric to make sure it lays perfectly and doesn’t irritate your skin.
You never know what someone else is going through, and this handmade jewelry dish is a great way to remind us of the importance of kindness. Find this at 32 Flavors Boutique for $12.95.
Pack up your family and this Yeti Hopper cooler from Blackhawk Hardware, and hit the road to the nearest beach or lake for the day. Whether you store drinks or sandwiches for a lunchtime picnic, you won’t have to worry about anything spoiling or getting wet, because the Hopper has the latest ColdCell technology to keep your items cooler for longer (up to a few days, even) and it’s also water-resistant! We like that it’s less bulky and more portable that the original hardshell Yetis. Pick one up for $299.
NC highball glass
Represent the Tar Heel State while enjoying a libation with a highball glass from Paper Skyscraper. We can’t wait to add a set to our bar cart and to buy a few as gifts for all of our Carolina friends. Each glass is $8.95.
Your favorite whiskey drinker will appreciate the Corkcicle Whiskey Wedge, which is designed to keep whiskey (or your preferred poison) cold without ever watering it down, keeping the full flavor of the spirit intact as long as you’re sipping. Paper Twist carries them for $20 each.
Bruce Julian may be known for his famous Bloody Marys, but since starting Bruce Julian Heritage Foods, the brand’s Couch Mix that was created by Bruce’s wife has been flying off the shelves as one of the lines best sellers! With the flavorful mixture of North Carolina peanuts, oyster crackers and giant corn nuts, it’s no wonder why it’s a favorite. Bruce Julian Clothier carries several sizes starting at $4.
Enjoy your spring AND your shopping!
