We’re so excited about all of the fabulous February events happening in Charlotte this month! Whether you like craft beer, cocktails, art, music or shopping, there is absolutely something for everyone this month in the QC. Charlotte Events: February 2018
February 2 through March 12, 2018: Art and Orchids
The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden’s annual Art and Orchids exhibit will feature Egyptian tapestries woven at the Wissa Wassef Art Centre in Giza, Egypt. Each tapestry is available for purchase, too! Art and Orchids is free for garden members and free with garden admission, which is $12.95 for adults; $11.95 for ages 60+; $6.95 for ages 2-12; and free for ages younger than 2. February 2-4, 2018: Antiques & Garden Show in Nashville
We’re highlighting a regional event that draws hundreds of people across the Southeast to Nashville, TN each winter. For three days, the Music City Center will be filled with spectacular gardens, fine antiques and horticultural items. With 150+ exhibitors, renowned experts and fabulous gardens, this annual show offers design inspiration, antique finds and access to top experts in the fields of garden and design. February 3, 2018: Winey Grapes
Sip and then sip some more at this year’s Winey Grapes festival where there will be more than 100 different wines to sample from all over the world. There will also be live music to set the mood and plenty of local art to check out. Winey Grapes runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, click here.
February 3, 2018: Queen City Brewers Fest
Check out the 7th annual Queen City Brewers Fest to try brews from more than 30 local craft breweries. The festival takes place at the Fillmore, and tickets are separated into two sessions — one runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the other is from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. Tickets are $45 and proceeds benefit ACEing Autism, a non-profit dedicated to helping children with autism play tennis. February 7, 2018: NC Yoga Bar at the Mint
Wind down after work every Wednesday with an hour-long yoga class taught by NC Yoga Bar. Stick around after class to explore the Mint’s galleries. The first class runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the second class is 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Mint Museum Uptown. Classes are free for Mint members, or $10 for drop-ins. February 10, 2018: Charlotte Mardi Gras Parade of Beads
You don’t have to travel all the way to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras! Just head Uptown to the 7th Annual Charlotte Mardi Gras Parade of Beads Celebration and let the good times roll. The EpiCentre will transform into the French Quarter with performers and colorful decorations from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The parade is free, but spring for a VIP ticket ($15), and you’ll get a Mardi Gras t-shirt, hurricane cup, beads and admission into Suite, Bubble, Whisky River, Rooftop 210, Blackfinn, Strike City, Vida Vida, Tin Roof, Wild Wing Cafe, Mortimers and Lucky’s. February 10, 2018: Frigid 5K Run & Plunge
Get your sweat on with the 5K through the Whitewater Center trails, and then take a leap into the icy-cold Catawba River at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The action gets underway at 7:30 a.m. with packet pick-ups, and the race starts shortly thereafter. Pre-registration is $30; day-of is $37. Learn more here.
February 10-14, 2018: UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens Valentine’s Orchid Sale
Drop the hint to your honey that you’d love an orchid or two, and then point him toward McMillen Greenhouse (9090 Craver Road) to pick up your gift! This five-day sale offers a gift that can last well beyond Valentine’s Day! Learn more and find hours here.
February 12-14, 2018: Poptopia Valentine’s Day
Enjoy this three-day pop-up taking place at the Ally Center lobby (440 S. Church St.), where you can peruse some great gift ideas just in time for Valentine’s Day. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Learn more here.
February 13, 2018: 40s and 50s Singles Mixer
Beat Cupid to the punch, and find your perfect person just in time for Valentine’s Day. This singles mixer hosted by Carolinas Matchmaker is just for the 40s and 50s crowd and takes place at 204 North Kitchen & Cocktails. February 17, 2018: Charlotte Checkers vs. Syracuse Crunch
Enjoy a night of minor league hockey as hometown favorite the Charlotte Checkers take on the Syracuse Crunch. The puck drops at Bojangles Coliseum at 6 p.m. and tickets start at $18.25. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
February 24, 2018: Art with Heart
As one of Charlotte’s most popular fundraisers, Art with Heart brings incredible works of art from all around the globe to one place. Guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and music while partaking in both live and silent auctions. The festivities take place CenterStage in NoDa from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds from tickets and art sales go toward helping victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. February 27 & 28, 2018: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Enjoy an amazing evening of theatric dance courtesy of the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. The contemporary works that will be performed at the Blumenthal focus on Ailey’s masterpiece, Revelations, which reaches the depths of both grief and joy. It’s sure to be a moving experience.
