More often than not when we travel, we opt out of the hotel dining options. Known for lackluster, overpriced menus, we find ourselves much more likely to hop in a cab or wander down the street to the latest hot spot to grab a bite. However, hotel dining is making a comeback. Boutique hotels across the South are offering mouth-watering dishes in inviting and trendy spaces. We have to say, it is mighty convenient to head down to the lobby instead of navigating the city after a long day of travel, so we’ll be booking our next trips to these, a few hotels where dining in is not settling for convenience, but experiencing the best of the city.

5 Hotel Restaurants Not to Miss

Henrietta’s

The Dewberry | Charleston, SC

A French brasserie serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and an outstanding brunch, Henrietta’s is located in the heart of Charleston’s downtown. Inside mid-century modern hotel The Dewberry, Henrietta’s is flooded with natural light and has a patio for al fresco dining. The bustling bistro’s menu includes French-inspired dishes with, of course, a Southern twist. Enjoy a cup of Vidalia onion soup with a seasonal salad on a cool evening, or opt for a Sunday brunch of quiche Lorraine and Geechie Boy grits. SB TIP: Stop into The Living Room for pre- or post-dinner drinks. Modeled after a mid-century living room, the space will take you back in time.

Tiny Lou’s

Hotel Clermont | Atlanta, GA

While Hotel Clermont is no news to Atlantans (or most Southerners for that matter), it was recently renovated, and with the revitalization came a new restaurant: Tiny Lou’s. A French-inspired menu includes everything from steak frites to Hudson Valley snails to trout almondine. The bright pink neon sign has been popping up on our Instagram feeds left and right, and the whimsical wallpaper and pale pink tables lend a photogenic air to this unique spot. Additionally serving a French-American brunch, you might find it tough to leave this hotel during your Atlanta visit. We wouldn’t blame you!

Public Service

NOPSI Hotel | New Orleans, LA

There is no shortage of incredible dining experiences in New Orleans. Just wandering the streets, you’re bound to pass a delicious-smelling restaurant — or 10! Public Service, located in the NOPSI Hotel, gives a taste of the city without leaving the hotel. A menu that is fueled by Gulf Coast farmers and fishermen, you’ll find a raw bar with oysters, ceviche and shrimp as well as classic Cajun-influenced dishes like shrimp and andouille croquettes and Cajun poutine. If you’re craving something family-style, stop in for their three-course Sunday Suppers. Breakfast is served during the week and a brunch menu on the weekend. Of course, that brunch menu is infused with Cajun influence making it unlike a menu you might typically find for Sunday brunch. Try the Creole omelet or boudin grits paired with a BBQ Bloody Mary to kick off your day in New Orleans (or heal you from the night before!).

Maple & Pine

Quirk Hotel | Richmond, VA

The Quirk Hotel is known for its place in the creative heart of Richmond. Surrounded by small boutiques, art galleries and more, the design reflects its unique and colorful neighbors. The same is true of its restaurant, Maple & Pine. Serving lunch, dinner and weekend breakfast, the menu features locally sourced foods in a laid-back yet elegant manner. On the dinner menu, you’ll find small plates — ideal paired with a cocktail after a day of travel — as well as pastas, oysters and delicious land and sea dishes. For lunch, drop in for a fresh, inventive salad or a satisfying pressed sandwich. With frequently changing menus, we recommend ordering the dishes with the season’s hottest ingredients and sharing them with your party.

The Westin, Nashville, TN

L27 sits 27 stories above Nashville with a view of downtown that stuns. The rooftop is a favorite of locals and tourists alike, and with options to sit on the outdoor terrace or covered lounge, you can enjoy the views day, night, summer, winter, rain or shine! L27’s menu makes it simple to share with friends, but you’ll also find mains and salads that satisfy. Of note are the Greek fries with herbs, garlic, red peppers, mizithra cheese and tzatziki, as well as the lobster roll with tarragon mayo and fried leek. Try one of their craft cocktails and watch the sunset over Music City. Cheers!
