Leather is a huge trend this fall, and we think every woman should own at least one leather item. Leather is a look that isn’t limited by age, body type or style, believe it or not. Some women are intimidated by leather, however, fearing they might look too biker babe-ish, rock n’ roll head banger-like or simply as though they are trying too hard. To ease any concerns about this fashion trend, we enlisted the help of stylist April Logan, store manager at Marella, who shows us how to put together a great leather look from this great store that works for women of all ages, whether your style is classic, trendy or modern.
This black leather shirt has a classic tailored shape and can be worn alone or open over a tank or shell. Paired with simple jeans or trousers, the look is classic, yet sophisticated and can take you from a day at the office to a night on the town!
This jacket mixes textured tweed with leather detailing lending itself to a playful, modern look. Paired with rolled up jeans the look is casual, but this jacket works equally as well over a simple sheath dress or paired with dressier black pants.
The dress shown here is on trend both with the leather details and the color block pattern. Black paneling on the sides creates a slimmer silhouette. Add a belt, if you want to play up your waist. A great look for an office party or a date night!
A leather shift dress is so versatile, as it can be dressed up with shoes and accessories or by adding in a collared blouse or made more casual by layering over a simple tee or turtleneck.
The leather trimmed peplum top is party perfect paired with leather leggings, but can also easily transition to a more demure look simply by swapping the leggings for a pencil skirt or a nice pair of black pants.
The leather tee is a super stylish way to up your outfit’s chic factor. Pair with your favorite jeans or cargo style skinnies and a great pair of flats for a casual, laid back, yet still very polished look or take it up a notch by adding in some booties and a statement necklace.
Whether you are a woman in your 20’s or your 70’s, there is a leather look that works for you so go ahead and embrace this trend. This is an investment piece that you will wear for years to come!
