The calendar has officially flipped to the month of love, and the Magic City will soon turn pink and red in celebration! This month, we’ve teamed up with two fabulous local boutiques, Moda and Monkee’s of Mountain Brook, to style nine romantic looks for wherever February takes you. And what better backdrop for a photoshoot than the gorgeous new showroom at Lolo French Antiques?!
Today’s beautiful models are two representatives from our local Kendra Scott store located in the Summit. It was such a treat to get all dolled up with store manager, Kamrie Meyer and assistant manager, Ashley Bailey! They’re rocking style suggestions for upcoming Birmingham events: RENT presented by Broadway in Birmingham, Casablanca at the Alabama Theatre and the Twilight Supper Series with Chef Adam Evans. These are all ideal events for Valentine’s, Galentine’s or any day this month!
Happy Valentine’s Day, B’ham! Now, let’s get to styling.
The Event: Casablanca at the Alabama Theatre
- February 14, 2020
- Show starts at 7 p.m.
- Tickets are $9
- Alabama Theatre
- For more information, see alabamatheatre.com
Grab your Valentine and enjoy a sing-along performance with the Mighty Wurlitzer, followed by a showing of the classic favorite Casablanca. Sip on a very special Valentine’s Day cocktail, glass of wine or beer, and snuggle up with your best guy or gal. The night begins at 7 p.m.
What to wear: This Valentine’s Day, keep it sweet and simple. We suggest pairing your most festive sweater with a comfy pair of jeans and a cute (and warm!) pair of booties. If you have plans to hit the town following the film, slip on a cozy LBD, and you’ll be ready for the best Valentine’s Day in the Magic City.
The Event: RENT Presented by Broadway in Birmingham
- February 17, 2020
- Show starts at 7:30 p.m.
- Tickets start at $70
- BJCC Concert Hall

Grab your sweetheart or your besties and head to the BJCC on February 17 as Broadway in Birmingham presents the beloved classic RENT. This spunky, cult-favorite show has the perfect musical score to sing and dance into another love-filled year. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
What to wear: If there’s a new trend you’ve been dying to try, this is your chance! The cool vibe provided by this broadway musical permits you to go all out with your attire. Rock those leather flares, lightning patterns or vibrant metallics and enjoy the “Seasons of Love” with the fearless cast of RENT.
The Event: Twilight Supper Series with Chef Adam Evans
- February 25, 2020
- The evening begins at 6 p.m.
- Tickets are $350
- Automatic Seafood & Oysters
- For more information, see twilightsupperseries.com
Back by popular demand is the Twilight Supper Series presented by Jones Valley Teaching Farm. On February 25, enjoy an incredible evening at one of Birmingham’s hottest restaurants with the critically acclaimed Chef Adam Evans. Dinner begins at 6 p.m.
What to wear: For this celebration of food and friends, we suggest dressing up a bit with fun and festive looks in romantic red, pink, and of course, some sequins. We love the look of tucking a cozy sweater into a statement-making skirt for a fresh twist on a polished look!
